Belarusian Ministry of Defense: Belarusian helicopters have not violated Polish airspace
On the evening of August 1st, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense issued a statement stating that the allegations made by the Polish military and government leadership regarding the violation of the Polish border by Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters of the Belarusian Air Force and air defense forces were fabricated, with the aim of once again rationalizing the assembly of Polish troops and equipment near the Belarusian border.
The Belarusian Ministry of Defense emphasized that in the morning, the Polish Armed Forces Operations Command comforted the people, stating that the Polish radar did not detect any violations of the Polish border. However, in the evening, it claimed that the crossing occurred at a very low altitude, which hindered the detection of the radar system.
The Belarusian Ministry of Defense believes that the statement from the Polish side, which has not been confirmed by objective monitoring system data, is purely "hearsay" and emphasizes that Belarus' Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters have not violated Polish airspace.
