The defendant Zhou's drug transportation case is a major drug crime case seized in Qingdao in recent years. He promised Xu Mouqing a reward of 10000 yuan and arranged for a round-trip vehicle. At around 13:00 on January 19th of the same year, Zhou contacted Liu Mouli by phone and hired Liu Mouli to drive a sedan car with Xu Mouqing to Hubei. At around 15:00 on the same day, Xu Mouqing took a sedan driven by Liu Mouli in Licang District, Qingdao City and arrived in Huangmei County, Hubei Province at midnight according to Zhou's instructions. At around 1:30 the next day, Xu and Zhou met near a building materials city in Huangmei County, Hubei Province. Zhou placed a shoe box containing methamphetamine in a blue paper bag and handed it to Xu. He also took out three small bags of methamphetamine for Liu to take, but Liu refused. Zhou handed it to Xu, and Xu placed it in the blue paper bag and placed the bag under the passenger seat of the car driven by Liu. Zhou placed a bag of food in the car and paid 1900 yuan in cash to Liu Mouli as the fare. Later, Liu Mouli drove a sedan car with Xu Mouqing back to Qingdao. At around 20:25 that day, Xu Mouqing was arrested by the public security organs in Qingdao. The investigators seized 6 large and 3 small packages of suspicious white crystals on the spot, with a total net weight of 2409.27 grams. After inspection, the content of methamphetamine in the above-mentioned crystals is all above 62%, with the highest reaching 68.9%. At around 5:50 am on June 20, 2022, Zhou surrendered to the public security organs.
After trial, the court found that the defendant Zhou violated the national drug management regulations by instructing others to transport a large amount of drugs, and his behavior constituted the crime of transporting drugs, which should be punished according to law. Zhou has been sentenced for the crime of drug trafficking and committed the crime of transporting drugs again within five years after the completion of the sentence.
