Although all the affected villagers have been relocated, Song Aimin, as the secretary of the town party committee, is not at ease. "For safety reasons, we need to go and see more often. Maybe some villagers will come back," he said

On August 6th, Wang Shuqing, the village branch secretary, was still at the Dongwangping Village Committee. The villagers have been safely transferred, with only her and two village committee officials stationed. "Home is here, guarded by someone, and those who leave feel at ease." 65 year old Wang Shuqing's right foot is severely swollen and red, but she still thinks about the villagers who have been transferred. "I really didn't feel any pain from this injury."
In Lu Village, Doudian Town, Fangshan District, a few days ago, the turbulent Dashi River had calmed down, and the "flood watermark" on the walls of the farmhouse was still clearly visible. "The village is flooded, with the deepest water exceeding 5 meters." Chen Hao, the village party secretary, is organizing efforts to clear the silt.
Beside him, a villager in his 70s felt a strong desire to lend a hand. "If it weren't for the party members and cadres in the village, we would have been dead long ago." Seeing Cheng's recollection, on the evening of July 31st, the flood overflowing from the Dashi River rushed into our homes, quickly reaching a height of one person. "First, we came with a stormboat, and then we got on a forklift. The village committee cadres and military officers and soldiers fought their lives to find a way."
Faced with heavy rain and floods, party members stood up and rushed forward. Mentougou District has established 89 temporary party branches and 368 "Red Pioneer Assault Teams" on the front line of flood prevention and disaster relief.

At noon, people lined up at the military settlement in Mentougou District. Rice, braised chicken legs, stir fried meat with green peppers, stir fried bean sprouts, a bottle of yogurt and an apple - this is today's lunch.
"The food was good, the living was good, and I felt much more secure." August 7 was the the fourth day for the Han Wei family to move into the settlement. His family is located in Caodianshui Village, Tanzhesi Town, more than 20 kilometers away. Five bungalows have been washed away by floods, and the remaining few are also in danger. "My parents and brothers' homes are all in the village and have all been affected by the disaster. Now, all eight people are resettled here."
The military settlement mainly receives people from Wangping Town, Tanzhesi Town, Miaofengshan Town, and Datai Street. At the resettlement site, seven special working groups are established, including comprehensive management, service guarantee, and medical guarantee. Wang Guogang, member of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Congress of Junzhuang Town, was appointed as the "point chief". "As of August 7th, more than 900 rooms have been occupied by the public."
"Minor illnesses and injuries can be resolved at the resettlement site. In case of emergencies, we will arrange an ambulance to take them to the hospital," said Guan Suxia, the director of the Health Center in Junzhuang Town. Twelve doctors from Tiantan Hospital, Huilongguan Hospital, and Mentougou District Hospital have already settled in the resettlement site.

At Zhongxin Primary School in Doudian Town, Fangshan District, folding beds with the words "Civil Affairs" are neatly arranged in each classroom, and more than 80 villagers from the surrounding area are temporarily staying here.
"The primary school is built at a high place, without water entering, it is safe." Since the opening of the resettlement site on July 31st, the person in charge, Zhang Yan, has been sticking to it. While coordinating various material support, he also occasionally visits various classrooms to inspect the situation of resettled people, collect demands, and soothe emotions. "We must not only eat well, but also be in good condition. In the face of disasters, we must overcome difficulties together."
As of now, a total of 7605 people have been transferred and resettled in 7 villages in Doudian Town, with a maximum of 8 temporary resettlement sites set up. Bi Sheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Doudian Town, said, "The reconstruction work is currently being carried out in an orderly manner, and the villagers at the resettlement site are gradually returning home to start mutual assistance in reconstruction, striving to restore normal production and life order as soon as possible."

As of August 7th, the Beijing Armed Police Force has deployed a total of 16650 troops, transferred and rescued 6524 people, blocked 5 pipes, filled 95000 sandbags, repaired 141.24 kilometers of roads, and cleared 133000 cubic meters of silt... Emergency rescue work is still ongoing.
Unite to fight against floods. After the flood disaster, more than 270 villages in Beijing experienced communication interruptions.
