Be wary of black hands reaching out to teenagers, Rule of Law Daily: "Gold Rushing in Northern Myanmar" Multiple Traps Myanmar | Northern Myanmar | Traps
In recent years, with the rapid development of the Internet, some lawbreakers in northern Myanmar spread unhealthy thoughts such as money first, hedonism and armed violence to the country through short videos, online games and other platforms. In the name of going out to work and earn money, they lured teenagers to sneak into northern Myanmar, and gave birth to a series of "tragedies" of flowering season. The People's Procuratorate of Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, discovered various forms of black hands reaching out to teenagers while handling related cases.
Weaving Rich Stories into Dreams of Northern Burma
"Abin has many fans, and I have watched some videos he posted. His home is full of luxury cars, as well as big villas and lawns." While surfing the internet, Xiaohao accidentally met a man named "Abin". Through the internet cable, the other person depicted him as a fake Burmese North where "money is everywhere and every day goes by.".
Simple Xiaohao believed it to be true, and under the guidance of "Abin", he also contacted some "users" from northern Myanmar through short video platforms. Unlike official warning propaganda, in the videos posted by these users, the houses in northern Myanmar are magnificent, the beautiful women in Myanmar are passionate and hot, and the stories in Myanmar are dreamy and mysterious
Xiaohao lost himself in the dream of becoming rich overnight, which was meticulously weaved by outlaws in northern Myanmar. With the dream of becoming rich overnight, he sneaked into Myanmar with several friends. Several young people with an average age of less than 20 years old hid all the way to the "Holy Land of Gold Rushing" in their hearts, but they were shocked by what they saw.
The empty and dilapidated rough buildings, the ferocious armed security guards... The so-called "job" that Xiao Hao and his team got was to engage in online "pig killing scams", and they finally realized that they were trapped in an electronic fraud gang.
Xiaohao's story is not an exception. In recent years, relevant departments have constantly carried out online and offline warning propaganda to expose the true face of northern Myanmar, but there are still some outlaws who rely on the Internet to show off luxury houses, sports cars, beautiful women, etc. in northern Myanmar through short videos, to create the illusion of overnight wealth, and package northern Myanmar as a paradise of "wealth and love".
"Teenagers with limited social experience and insufficient discernment ability, if they are immersed in such an online environment for a long time and become curious or even yearning for the 'gold rush' stories in northern Myanmar, it is easy to distort their values and fall into the trap of illegal elements in northern Myanmar." Cao Li, the prosecutor in charge of handling cases at the Xiangcheng District Prosecutor's Office, said.
Using online games to bring relationships closer
"At the beginning, Xiaohao met 'Abin' in the game. I heard that 'Abin' was very generous and cared about Xiaohao. Over time, Xiaohao became more and more convinced of him. When he heard that he could make a lot of money, he went without any doubt and even let us go together." Xiaofan secretly immigrated to Myanmar with Xiaohao. Although he had been back to China for a long time, he still felt lingering fear when he remembered his experience at that time.
The online games favored by teenagers have become another "breakthrough" outside of short videos due to their social functions such as private chat with friends, public chat rooms, and forums. Criminals will spend a lot of money in the games to shape the image of "wealthy" and "big shots", attracting the attention of teenagers.
Most of these teenagers leave school early, work and wander alone outside, without healthy relationships with classmates and friends, and without guidance from teachers. They are lonely and confused, pouring their hopes for life into the game. Suddenly, a wealthy and enthusiastic "big shot" appears who is willing to take them to make money. Naturally, they are deeply moved and even develop a sense of dependence.
In order to prevent anyone from escaping, these fraud dens are mostly guarded by security guards. If you want to go out on a regular basis, you need approval from your superiors. Under such high pressure, many young people who have been scammed to Myanmar can only tremble every day. At an age when they should have laughed in the sunshine, they are locked up in faraway fraud dens in Myanmar, engaged in hidden espionage crimes.
Utilizing acquaintances and classmates to "accurately set a trap"
"Xiao Fang and I were friends, and we used to play and play games together. Later, Xiao Fang suddenly went to work in Southeast Asia and said he wanted to recruit a team, asking if I wanted to join." Xiao Yun was also one of the members of a fraud gang in northern Myanmar, and he initially refused the invitation from his friend Xiao Fang. But under the influence of Xiao Fang's trials and tribulations, he chose to trust his friends. Not long after, Xiaoyun dropped out of school and followed Xiaofang to the China Myanmar border. He thought he was going to Yunnan to work, but it wasn't until he crossed the border that he realized he had been taken to Myanmar.
"Later, when I chatted with people around me, I found that everyone had similar experiences. Some were deceived by classmates, while others were brought over by fellow villagers. I don't understand why such good friends would become like this?" said Xiao Yun.
In fact, the values of teenagers are not fixed yet. Once they are deceived into criminal gangs like the Myanmar North Electric Fraud Group, they are easily distorted in their values under the guidance of criminals. They not only actively integrate into the criminal group, but even transform themselves and turn their focus to China, encouraging and deceiving former friends to go abroad together.
"Compared to the advice of teachers and parents, teenagers are often more willing to believe the words of their peers, especially those who have known each other for a long time, as well as classmates and fellow villagers, emphasizing the so-called 'brotherly loyalty'. Therefore, once similar cases occur, by delving into the underlying reasons, it will be found that these teenagers are often one after another, being deceived into Myanmar and falling into a trap." Prosecutor Cao Li analyzed.
There are many traps for gold mining in northern Myanmar. Cao Li reminds us to strengthen our ability to identify and prevent the "gold mining" traps in northern Myanmar. We must be vigilant against the complex information materials on the internet, strangers who ask for help through internet cables in games, and so-called "friends" who promote and shout under the banner of "going to Myanmar to make money".
