The 5-day 2023 Air Force Aviation Open Event - Changchun Aviation Exhibition concluded on the 30th in Changchun. This year's air show is the 10th aviation open event held by the People's Air Force in Changchun, attracting hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic participants from all over the country.

Although it is a completely free public welfare event, the Changchun Air Show has no discount in terms of content. In addition to the three major flight performance teams of August 1st, Red Eagle, and Tianzhiyi, there are also flight performances of various main active combat aircraft, and the overall effect is stunning and exciting.

At the event site, the author found that many of them were family members, and children and teenagers were the "key target audience" of this year's air show. In order to better enhance the sense of participation of children and adolescents, this year's air show not only features exciting aerial performance courses, but also organizes military camp opening, "Blue Sky Spring Bud" national defense summer camp, and air force military band tours. Frontline commanders, new generation pilots, and on-site audiences, especially children and adolescents, are arranged to interact and exchange ideas.

At the air show, their childish faces were particularly eye-catching: they sat on their father's shoulders, holding their necks high as they gazed at the fighter jets on the runway, exclaiming at the roaring engine sounds, waving the national flag for the cool flight performances... For them, the performance parameters of the fighter jets and the difficulty of the flight movements may not be the key points, but this shocking experience on site is an indelible and profound memory.

At the air show, there was a scene that particularly touched people's hearts. At noon, a mother and her child asked the air force soldier in charge of security where they could buy boxed meals. Without hesitation, the soldier gave them the boxed meals he had just received. A netizen commented, "The howling of the sky is a manifestation of combat effectiveness, and the inadvertent moments on the ground are the root of combat effectiveness." Perhaps the heartwarming actions of the people's soldiers can plant the seeds of patriotism and support for the army in a child's heart.

On December 21, 1950, the first combat unit of the newly formed Volunteer Army Air Force entered Langtou Airport and dared to engage in aerial bayonet combat with the enemy. At that time, the average age of this team was just over 20 years old, with an average flight time of less than 20 hours on jet fighters. However, in actual combat, they achieved stunning and brilliant results that shocked the world. In the air combat of 2 years and 8 months, the Volunteer Army Air Force shot down 330 enemy planes and injured 95; 116 pilots sacrificed their lives, with the oldest being only 29 years old and the youngest being only 19 years old. How can a young People's Air Force team, a group of pilots with extremely short flight time, face a strong enemy and rely on what to win in the blue sky and sea of clouds? It is the courage bestowed upon warriors by the mission on their shoulders, and it is also the fearlessness ingrained in the bones of young people.

This courage and fearlessness, we not only cannot lose today, but also have to pass on more, more, and more to our teenagers. Activities like the Changchun Air Show are a great opportunity. Provide more space for teenagers to participate in national defense, nourish their curiosity, and give their imagination more footholds. Cultivate their national defense awareness and enthusiasm for joining the military from an early age, and plant them with courage and fearlessness. Only then will there be more young people who dare to take on responsibilities and compete to enrich national defense, and our various undertakings will have a more solid guarantee.

A country without defense cannot stand firm, and good education wins the hearts of the people.
