Comrade Wang Shaojun, former Deputy Director and Director of the Security Bureau of the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and former Major General and Director of the Security Bureau of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission and Commander of the Central Guard Corps, passed away on April 26 in Beijing at the age of 67 due to ineffective medical treatment.
Wang Shaojun, a native of Qinghe County, Hebei Province, joined the army in 1969 and joined the CPC in 1975. During his revolutionary career, he held various positions including platoon leader, company commander, battalion commander, director of the teaching and research office, section chief, team leader, chief of staff, deputy regimental commander, executive deputy regimental commander, deputy military security secretary, and executive deputy director, making contributions to the revolutionary, modernization, and regularization construction of the military.
Wang Shaojun is a delegate to the 19th National Congress of the CPC and a standing member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He was promoted to the rank of Major General in 2016.
