Local media quoted a civil organization leader from Plateau State as saying that in the early hours of the 9th, a group of armed militants attacked two villages located in the Balkingladi district of the state, resulting in at least 20 deaths and multiple injuries. Armed militants also set fire to multiple houses.
The Nigerian armed forces stationed in Plateau Prefecture issued a statement on the 10th, stating that armed militants bypassed military inspection stations and carried out attacks on two villages, resulting in casualties. The armed forces deployed in the area quickly arrived and repelled the attackers.
In recent months, there have been consecutive armed attacks and kidnappings in many parts of Nigeria.
