To alleviate the difficulty of parking in residential areas, since the beginning of this year, the New Area Construction and Transportation Commission has taken the lead in promoting the "Parking Resource Optimization" project, guiding local streets and towns to actively create parking resource optimization projects through methods such as "internal tapping, external construction, and resource sharing". As of July this year, the three streets of Huamu, Zhoujiadu, and Tangqiao have effectively alleviated the parking difficulties in their communities through various methods such as utilizing temporary sites and potential renovation.
A temporary parking lot can accommodate 100 cars
The community of Lane 136, Fanghua Road, Huamu Street was built in the 1990s, with over 250 households. It is an old community with nearly 30 years of housing age. The small interior space of the community has already saturated parking resources, which has led to many neighborhood conflicts such as "grabbing parking spaces".
In order to effectively solve the parking problem of residents in Lane 136 of Fanghua Road, under the guidance of the New Area Construction and Transportation Commission, Huamu Street, in conjunction with the Neighborhood Committee of Lane 136 of Fanghua Road, comprehensively coordinated the surrounding resources of the community, solicited the opinions of surrounding residents for the temporary use of the renovated land, and finally unanimously agreed to change the original construction plan of public leisure green space to build a temporary parking lot. This temporary parking lot, which can accommodate 100 small motor vehicles, has solved the problem of parking at night in multiple surrounding communities, and is also open for sharing with nearby office spaces during the day.
It is worth mentioning that in order to fully leverage the convenience and benefits of the parking lot, under the coordination of Huamu Street, the operator provided monthly sharing services to residents of the community at a price of 150 yuan per month, which was praised by the residents.

At the same time as the temporary construction outside, the Fanghua Road 136 community has also scientifically designed and developed the abandoned land and idle space inside, maximizing the number of parking spaces for residents, increasing from 46 to 58.
In addition, the New Area Construction and Transportation Commission coordinated with the Traffic Police Detachment of the Public Security Bureau to set up 70 road parking spaces on the south side of Fangxin Road in the vicinity of the community, providing night time fee based services. The night parking time is from 19:30 to 7:00 the next day, further alleviating the parking difficulties in the surrounding communities.
"Golden Corner and Silver Edge" Digging for Potential Parking Resources
The residential area of Shangnan Village in Zhoujiadu Street was built in the early 1980s, with a total of 96 corridors and a permanent population of about 3640 people. It is a super large household in the old community, but the entire community only has 102 designated parking spaces, which is far from meeting the growing parking needs of residents.
On the basis of thorough research, the neighborhood committee of Zhoujiadu Street and Shangnan Yicun Community has decided to fully utilize the existing "Golden Corner and Silver Edge" in the community to tap into the potential and add parking spaces. By demolishing 14 illegal buildings and multiple clothes drying racks, some resources on the main roads were fully excavated, empowering the expansion of parking space.

Through the joint efforts of all parties, a total of 128 potential berths were excavated in Shangnan Village, which is more than twice the original number of berths. Surrounding the parking lot, the entire community is transformed into a new look with stylish flower beds, painted anti-corruption walls, colorful walkways, cinnamon trees, and Margaret flowers.
To further facilitate nighttime parking for residents, the New Area Construction and Transportation Commission coordinated with the Traffic Police Detachment of the District Public Security Bureau to set up 63 parking spaces on both sides of Hongshan Road, providing night charging services. The nighttime parking time is from 19:30 to 8:00 the next day, further alleviating the parking difficulties in surrounding communities.
Abandoned swimming pool transformed into a parking lot
The Jinpu Garden Community in Tangqiao Street is located at 1261 Nanquan Road and was built in 1995. There are three 18 story buildings in the community, with a total of 213 households. Due to the early construction of the community and weak infrastructure, parking in the community has always been a major issue.
Tangqiao Street combines projects such as "Beautiful Home" and "Rainwater and Sewage Renovation" to fully utilize the original land resources of the community, adjust the layout according to local conditions, repeatedly consider and optimize the plan. After seeking the consent of the community owners, it was finally decided to landfill the long abandoned swimming pool in the community, adding more than 200 square meters of parking space. The number of parking spaces increased from 70 to 95, and the originally not spacious parking environment in the community suddenly became spacious. The renovated Jinpu Flower Garden basically met the parking needs of the community residents, transforming the previously "smelly" abandoned swimming pool into a "parking lot with a designated path". The residents applauded and praised it. At the same time, during the day, the surrounding units and temporary service vehicles will be opened at different times, and tidal parking space sharing will be carried out to alleviate the problem of community parking.

In order to facilitate more residents in the residential area to park at night, the New Area Construction and Transportation Commission coordinated with the Traffic Police Detachment of the Public Security Bureau to set up 34 road parking spaces on the south side of the surrounding Blue Village Road, providing night time charging services. The night parking time is from 21:00 to 7:30 the next day, further alleviating the parking difficulties in the surrounding residential areas.
