As the rotating chair of ASEAN, the President and Foreign Minister of Indonesia have made intensive statements, reflecting the common aspiration of ASEAN countries for peace and unity. Currently, the biggest challenge and threat to the stability and prosperity of the region comes from the United States and the West. The United States and the West, under the guise of so-called "value diplomacy," are building "small courtyards and high walls" in East Asia. These practices are actually a threat to the region, directly undermining the regional security architecture centered around ASEAN.
On the 14th, Wang Yi, Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, stated at the 13th East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Jakarta that the East Asia Summit is a cooperation mechanism with broad representativeness and important influence in the Asia Pacific region. In the face of profound changes in the current international and regional situation, the East Asia Summit should maintain the hard won peace and stability in the region. China supports Indonesia's initiative to issue a leadership statement on economic growth, sending a positive signal of unity for development. China is willing to work with regional countries to promote the purpose and principles of the Southeast Asian Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, adhere to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and mutually beneficial cooperation, practice true multilateralism, and promote Asia Pacific cooperation to return to the right track.
Luo Yongkun, Deputy Director of the Institute of Southeast Asia and Oceania at the China Academy of Modern International Relations, stated in an interview with China Central Television Global Information Radio that in November 2021, China and ASEAN announced the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership, committed to jointly building a peaceful, peaceful, prosperous, beautiful, and friendly home in the region. This reflects the positive stance and aspirations of China and ASEAN towards developing bilateral relations and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation:
Which direction should China ASEAN cooperation go in? We have seen the vision from the "Five Homelands", which has been recognized by both parties, and cooperation in various fields is also moving towards these five visions. In this sense, the cooperation between China and ASEAN has common strategic goals and common strategic expectations.
The vision of the "Five Homelands" also represents the five directions of cooperation between China and ASEAN: political, economic, cultural, security, and social fields. On the basis of ensuring deeper political mutual trust and integration of economic interests, both sides will further address security issues, deepen cultural exchanges, strengthen cooperation in non-traditional security fields, and form a comprehensive and all-round cooperation in various fields. This is the strategic landscape of China ASEAN relations.

Jointly building the "the Belt and Road" has become an important platform for cooperation between China and Southeast Asian countries.Luo Yongkun pointed out that since the "the Belt and Road" initiative was put forward ten years ago, it has promoted cooperation between China and ASEAN in many fields and achieved mutual benefit and win-win results:
Under the guidance of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, cooperation between China and Southeast Asian countries covers all fields. For example, the most representative of infrastructure cooperation is the Ya'an Wanzhou High speed Railway, which is a major landmark project of the "the Belt and Road" cooperation between China and Indonesia. In addition, the China Laos Railway has been opened to traffic, and the China Thailand Railway, the East Coast Railway of Malaysia, and the South Railway are also being promoted. These are the best examples of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and ASEAN.
Under the framework of the "the Belt and Road" and "Five Links", China and ASEAN actively promote trade cooperation. From the launch of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area in 2010, to the upgrading of the Free Trade Area in 2019, to the current version 3.0 of the Free Trade Area and the cooperation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, the economic cooperation between China and ASEAN is constantly improving.
