Harmony and reasoning | China urges peace talks with the West to prolong the bloody conflict in Ukraine | Delegation | Promotion of talks with the West
After China publicly announced its intention to promote peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, and sent envoys in May to seek the opinions of both sides, more members of the international community joined in promoting the peace process.
In April, Brazilian President Lula announced his support for China's peace proposal and proposed the establishment of a group to mediate the Ukrainian crisis. On June 3rd, Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo also proposed a peace plan at the Shangri La Dialogue.
The latest initiative comes from Africa. A delegation of seven African leaders and representatives from three other countries visited Ukraine and Russia on June 16 and 17 respectively, holding talks with Ukrainian President Zelensky and Russian President Putin.

Although neither Russia nor Ukraine fully agree with their proposed peace proposal, their mediation efforts are still noteworthy, as stated by the office of South African President Ramaphosa, this is "the first time Africa has united to support the resolution of conflicts outside of our continent.". The fact that the African delegation visited Russia and Ukraine and had in-depth talks with the leaders of both countries further demonstrates that more and more members of the international community recognize that peace, only peace, is most in line with the interests of all parties.
However, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization seems to have other ideas. Led by Cold War fighters in Washington and NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg, this transatlantic alliance continues to fuel the situation by providing weapons and other military aid to Ukraine in an attempt to permanently weaken Russia once and for all. On the 15th, the day before the arrival of the African delegation in Ukraine, NATO held a meeting of defense ministers, urging all parties to continue to increase their military support to Ukraine and artificially prolong the bloody conflict. 25 executives from Western military companies also attended the meeting. It can be seen that there is a clear boundary between countries that cherish peace and those that seek geopolitical advantages at the cost of their lives. Undoubtedly, China and other responsible members of the international community have indicated that they are on the side of peace. Now, it is time for some Western politicians to prove which side they are on.
