Working for the US military for nearly 20 years, an Afghan man immigrated to the United States for two years and was shot on the street in Washington D.C
On July 8th, according to the Associated Press, 31 year old Afghan man Nasrat Ahmed Al was recently shot while driving in Washington D.C., USA, and the incident is regrettable.
The shooting occurred on July 3rd local time, and Ahmed Al was worried about not being able to pay rent. He went out to work overtime as a carpool driver, but was unexpectedly shot. The surveillance video captured a gunshot and showed four young men fleeing, but the police have not arrested anyone yet.
Ahmed Yar has been working for the US military at a base in Afghanistan since childhood for nearly 20 years. In 2021, after the withdrawal of the US military from Afghanistan, Ahmed al Yar immigrated to the United States with his family to live a better life. However, after going to the United States, Ahmed Al had to do odd jobs to make a living and was ultimately brutally shot.
Nurula Ahmed Zai, the Afghan community leader in Washington, D.C., said that for this family, this is a difficult time, and this tragedy will affect everyone in some way. He also stated that Ahmed al Yar's story resonated with many Afghan people who went to the United States. "Anyway, you must pay the bill and no one will give you money."
According to a report in 2022, at least 50 delivery and carpooling drivers who worked part-time in the United States were murdered from 2017 to early 2022.
