The 53rd International Physics Olympiad concluded on the 17th in Tokyo, Japan, with all 5 Chinese team members winning gold medals.
The International Physics Olympiad is an international high school physics competition that has been held annually since 1967, with each team consisting of no more than 5 athletes. This year's competition will be held in Tokyo from the 10th to the 17th of this month, with participants from more than 80 countries and regions participating in the competition.
The five players of the Chinese team in this competition are Ding Zhuoli from Hefei No.1 Middle School, Jiang Daibing from Nanning No.3 Middle School, Tian Xiangchen and Yu Bowen from Huazhong Normal University No.1 Affiliated Middle School, and Zhao Hanhong from Renmin University of China Affiliated Middle School.
According to the official website of the competition, a total of 37 gold medals, 74 silver medals, and 103 bronze medals were won in this competition.
According to the plan, the 2024 International Physics Olympiad will be held in Iran.
Previously, at the 64th International Mathematical Olympiad, which ended in Chiba Prefecture, Japan on the 12th, all six Chinese athletes also won gold medals, allowing the Chinese team to achieve a total score of 240 points and achieve five consecutive team championships.
