All China Federation of Trade Unions launches the Care for Truck Drivers Action | Action | All China Federation of Trade Unions
On June 6th, the All China Federation of Trade Unions launched the "Trade Union Accompanying You on the Road" campaign to care for truck drivers nationwide in Baoding City, Hebei Province. They actively improved the working and rest conditions of truck drivers, and continued to promote the establishment of truck driver associations and rights protection services.
The Care Action is initiated by the All China Federation of Trade Unions, which includes ten main contents: "building sites, spreading care, promoting membership, strengthening organization, assisting negotiation, promoting health, upgrading skills, delivering culture, setting up special projects, and uniting public welfare". It will mobilize multiple forces to weave a dense network of service truck drivers.
The action will focus on adapting to the work characteristics of truck drivers who work on the road and rest at designated locations. Service positions will be widely established at the starting and ending points, transfer points, and rest points of backbone logistics channels and cargo distribution centers, providing basic services such as parking, rest, toileting, hot food, drinking water, and charging for truck drivers, and strengthening the construction of service positions for truck drivers.
The action will focus on promoting new ways such as online membership and "scanning the code" to join, and strive to ensure that mobile and dispersed truck drivers have access to membership and are fully enrolled. The goal is to maximize the organization of truck drivers into trade unions and strengthen the construction of grassroots trade union organizations.
The action will also focus on responding to the needs of truck drivers in skills improvement, legal aid, assistance in difficulties, cultural services, safety and health, etc., promoting the establishment of negotiation and coordination mechanisms between freight platform enterprises, trade unions, and labor representatives, organizing vocational skills competitions, conducting online training, organizing medical workers to provide volunteer services such as free clinics and health science popularization, holding on-site condolence performances, conducting donation activities and public welfare services for truck drivers, and mobilizing truck manufacturers to provide assistance to truck drivers in the production, sales, maintenance and other aspects of automobiles.
Previously, the All China Federation of Trade Unions, in conjunction with the Ministry of Transport, organized social forces to build more than 1300 driver homes, and continuously launched the "Warm Journey · Truck Driver Career Development and Guarantee Action", raising and distributing funds and materials worth more than 30 million yuan. On this basis, the Care for Truck Drivers Action will further mobilize industry associations, charitable organizations, caring enterprises and other social resources to participate widely, establish a special action fund and a special mutual assistance guarantee plan, and provide professional, refined, and socialized services for truck drivers.
