At that time, he neither wrote a loan agreement nor agreed on the repayment period and interest.

I thought this money would be considered as a gift from her to buy a car for me," said Lu after the incident. As a reward, Lu provided convenience for Ma in the application of time-honored brands and the entry of counters. Seemingly helping fellow villagers, behind it is a power and money transaction.

Investing in the Dream of Wealth Creation

In the process of company operation, there was an opportunity to add 1% investment shares. Lu wanted to seize this opportunity, but he lacked funds. What should he do? The method he came up with was to invest 100000 yuan on behalf of Mr. Xie, and the shares were registered under Mr. Lu's name.

Afterwards, Lu "replicated" this method of proxy investment and invested in multiple companies. I thought I could wash away everything from before, but to Lu's surprise, on the morning of July 12, 2022, at an e-commerce forum, he was suddenly taken away by disciplinary inspection and supervision personnel.

After investigation, the supervisory authorities not only discovered the fact that Lu committed a bribery crime, but also uncovered a dereliction of duty crime he committed ten years ago. In 2012, while serving as the Deputy Director of the E-commerce Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, Lu provided illegal assistance to a certain enterprise in project application and subsidy application, resulting in significant losses to public property.

On January 5, 2023, the case was transferred to the Lin'an District Prosecutor's Office in Hangzhou for review and prosecution. During the review and prosecution stage, Lu wrote a letter of remorse, documenting his own emotional journey: "The smooth sailing of my career strengthened my self righteous personality. Years of exposure to the 'wealth making' industry gave me a desire for money, the peripheral halo led to my lack of respect for power, and the busyness of my career became an excuse for owing my family... Unconsciously, I was electrocuted."

On April 24th, after being prosecuted by the Lin'an District Prosecutor's Office, the case of Lu's bribery and abuse of power was heard in court. After a trial, the court sentenced Lu to six years and ten months in prison for bribery and abuse of power, and fined him 650000 yuan.
