On the night of July 25th local time, the Dutch Coast Guard discovered a cargo ship carrying over 3000 cars caught fire near the northern coast of the Netherlands. As of the evening of July 28th local time, the fire on board has not been completely extinguished. On the 28th, Kawasaki Steamship, a Japanese company responsible for loading the cargo ship, confirmed that the ship was carrying a total of 3783 vehicles, of which 498 were electric vehicles.
It is reported that the cargo ship is registered in Panama, 199 meters long, with crew members from India. Originally planned to sail from Germany to Egypt, a fire broke out on the night of the 25th at a distance of 27 kilometers from Amherland Island in the north of the Netherlands, resulting in one death and multiple injuries. All crew members have been evacuated. The cause of the fire on the cargo ship is currently unclear.
