On July 20th, the composite TBM for the left track of Chongqing Metro Line 24 from Zhuyuancun Station to Chongqing East Station, constructed by China Railway Construction Kunlun Group and China Railway 20th Bureau Group, successfully departed. This is the first ultra large slope shield tunneling construction in China's urban rail transit industry.
The composite TBM Flame No. 7 has a total length of 82 meters and an installed power of 1750 kilowatts. The starting section will enter a circular curve section with a slope of 43 ‰ and a radius of 500 meters.
Applied to intercity railways——
On March 12th, at the construction site of the Shenzhen Dalian Intercity Railway Section 1 project undertaken by China Energy Construction Gezhouba Municipal Engineering Co., Ltd., the shield tunneling machine "Zhumeng" slowly started and successfully started. "Zhumeng" is a composite earth pressure balance shield tunneling machine that undertakes the excavation task of the 2693-meter tunnel on the right side of the shield tunneling section from T4 hub station to Airport East station.
The shield body of the "Dream Building", along with its supporting equipment, has a total length of about 125 meters and weighs about 1260 tons. The maximum propulsion speed is 80 millimeters per minute, and the excavation diameter is 9.14 meters. The entire process of propulsion, excavation, and assembly is automated, forming in one go, reducing the risk of shield tunneling construction and achieving fast, efficient, and safe excavation.

On June 16th, the "Yangtze River" shield tunneling machine of the Chongqing Qianjiang section of the Chongqing Hunan high-speed railway slowly rotated the cutterhead inside the 149 meter deep tunnel in the Nanshan area of Chongqing, initiating the most difficult river crossing operation, marking the official entry of the country's first high-speed railway tunnel crossing the Yangtze River into the shield tunneling construction phase.
The Chongqing Yangtze River Tunnel is the longest underwater high-speed railway tunnel in China and the first high-speed railway crossing the river in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. It is known as the "First Tunnel of the Yangtze River High Speed Railway with a Distance of 10000 Miles". Its shield tunnel section is 3845 meters long and the crossing section is 1282 meters long. To overcome the difficulties, China Railway 14th Bureau has tailored a mud water balance shield tunneling machine, which is the first shield tunneling machine in China that is completely assembled, started, received, and dismantled inside a mountain tunnel.

On June 9th, in the receiving well on the right line of the Shenzhen Mawan Cross Sea Passage, a 15.53 meter diameter "Mawan" mud water balance shield machine broke through the rock, marking the completion of the largest diameter underwater shield tunnel under construction in China, the right line of the Shenzhen Mawan Cross Sea Passage, jointly constructed by China Railway Southern and China Railway Tunnel Bureau.
The shield tunnel section on the right line of the Ma Wan Cross Sea Passage, which is connected this time, has a total length of 2063 meters, including 1100 meters in the sea area, and is a control project for the entire line. During the sea crossing excavation process, the project achieved a national record for the highest daily excavation of 10 meters for underwater large shield tunneling.
Chinese Shield Tunnels Going Abroad——
In July of this year, the longest underwater road tunnel in Poland, the Hivino Ujchche Tunnel, was officially opened. The cross river commuting time for residents on both sides of Uznan Island and Wallin Island in Poland was reduced from 40 minutes to 4 minutes, completely rewriting the local century long history of commuting by ferry.
To ensure the smooth completion of excavation tasks, China Railway Equipment, a subsidiary of China Railway Industry, has customized a super large diameter slurry water balance shield machine for it.
