Add new positions!, Deputy Governor and Director of the Public Security Department after returning to the Ministry of Public Security
According to the official website of the Ministry of Public Security, Wang Zhizhong, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Security, has also served as the Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Special Service Bureau.
Previously, Wang Xiaohong also served as the Director of the Special Service Bureau. Wang Xiaohong is currently the Secretary of the 20th Central Secretariat of the Communist Party of China, a State Councilor, a member of the Party Group of the State Council, Minister of Public Security, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Deputy Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Commission.
On June 26 this year, Wang Zhizhong, the former deputy governor of Guangdong Province and director of the Provincial Public Security Department, became the deputy minister of the Ministry of Public Security.
Since the beginning of this year, the heads of public security departments in Shaanxi, Guangxi, and Guangdong provinces have taken on new positions in the Ministry of Public Security. In March, Xu Datong, then Deputy Governor of Shaanxi Province and Director of the Provincial Public Security Department, was transferred to the position of Deputy Minister of Public Security. Ling Zhifeng, then Vice Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government and Director of the District Public Security Department, assumed the position of Director of the Political Department of the Ministry of Public Security.
At the same time, the resumes of Du Hangwei, former Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Feng Yan, Director of the Political Department of the Ministry of Public Security, were removed from the "institutional structure". Both were born in April 1962 and are currently 61 years old. Du Hangwei currently serves as the Deputy Leader of the National Anti Terrorism Work Leading Group and Director of the National Anti Terrorism Office, as well as the Chinese Director of the SCO Regional Anti Terrorism Agency.
According to public data, Wang Zhizhong, male, Han nationality, was born in Cangxian County, Hebei Province in October 1965. He joined the CPC in June 1989 and started working in July 1986. He graduated from Xuzhou Air Force Academy in the major of battle command with an on-the-job postgraduate degree, a master's degree in military science, and the rank of deputy chief police officer. He worked in the Ministry of Public Security in his early years, serving as the Director of the Office of the Security Bureau and the Deputy Bureau level Researcher of the Security Bureau.
In 2015, Wang Zhizhong was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Security Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. In 2018, in accordance with the relevant spirit of the Party and state institutional reform, the Public Security Guard Force was no longer listed as a member of the Armed Police Force and was completely withdrawn from active service. The Security Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security has been reorganized into the Special Service Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. In 2019, Wang Zhizhong was appointed as the Deputy Director and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Special Service Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security.
In April 2021, Wang Zhizhong left the Ministry of Public Security after serving for 35 years and became the Deputy Governor and member of the Party Group of Guangdong Provincial Government. He also served as the Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Department, and Inspector General of the Provincial Public Security Department, as well as the First Deputy Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the Provincial Party Committee. Until June this year, he returned to the Ministry of Public Security as the Deputy Minister.
