Achievements of "Making New and Greater Contributions to World Peace and Development" | China | Contribution
"Under the leadership of the CPC, China has not only made great achievements in its own development, but also created important opportunities for all countries to achieve mutual benefit and common prosperity." Marcelo Mu ñ oz, honorary chairman of the Spanish think tank "Zhihua Lecture Hall", said in an interview with our reporter a few days ago that China actively participates in the reform and construction of the global governance system, and promotes the development of the international order in a more just and reasonable direction.
In 1978, Munios first set foot on the land of China and founded an economic and trade consulting company in Beijing. For over 40 years, Munios has visited China multiple times, visiting over a hundred cities and witnessing the tremendous changes that have occurred in China since its reform and opening up. After retirement, Munios focused on studying China and established the think tank "Zhihua Lecture Hall" in Spain in 2012. Through organizing seminars, forums, and publishing books, he promoted a better understanding of China among various sectors of Spanish society.
Munios said that in the past decade, China has made tremendous progress in areas such as economy, society, and people's livelihoods. Even when the COVID-19 is spreading globally and the world economic recovery is facing challenges, the Chinese economy still shows strong resilience, and the fundamentals of long-term improvement remain unchanged. "China actively participates in global governance and is a contributor to maintaining world peace and promoting common development." Mu ñ oz gave an example, stating that China has signed 20 free trade agreements with foreign countries and is the largest trading partner of multiple economies, benefiting many countries. China has proposed to jointly build the "the Belt and Road" initiative to promote international cooperation in economic, technological and other fields. It has also enhanced cultural exchanges and people to people connections between China and countries along the Belt and Road, bringing tangible benefits to local people. Munoz believes that "development is to make people's lives better, and the joint construction of the the Belt and Road reflects China's people-centered development philosophy."
In October 2022, at the age of nearly 90, Munios published his fourth Chinese monograph "China Returns, Will Not Leave Again" in Spain. "Over the past few decades, I have constantly deepened my understanding of China. China has made remarkable achievements in poverty eradication, ecological protection, scientific and technological innovation and other fields, and Europe and China have broad prospects for cooperation in these fields." Munoz believes that China's achievements are due to the strong leadership of the CPC. The CPC has united and led the Chinese people, effectively responded to the severe and complex international situation, and pushed forward socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era with the spirit of making great efforts. During the difficult times of global economic recovery, the Chinese economy has always maintained a growth momentum, injecting strong momentum into boosting the world economy; When the world is facing climate challenges, China has introduced policies, increased investment, and ensured the realization of the "double carbon" goal... "Chinese path to modernization is a development path with Chinese characteristics, different from the western modernization path, and has contributed Chinese wisdom and solutions to many global problems." Munoz said.
Munios expressed his hope to combine his personal experience to better introduce China's development philosophy and changes to the world. "I believe that China will continue to move in the right direction and make new and greater contributions to world peace and development."
