Accompanied by Youth and Going Together in the Future - Mainland University Student Union Visits Baodao Documentary University | Wuhan University | Mainland China
Taipei, July 23 (Xinhua) - In the scorching summer, the fragrance is scorching. In a vibrant season, a youthful date crossing the strait, a personal return visit, a future oriented spiritual dialogue, building a "rainbow bridge" that connects the two sides and conveys hope.
This is the first time in over three years that mainland universities have formed a delegation to Taiwan, which is of positive significance in promoting the resumption of two-way exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and has attracted much attention.
Along the way, with countless emotions, mainland teachers and students have personally experienced the warmth and friendliness of Taiwan compatriots. The young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait have had close interactions and sincere exchanges, making a common wish of "youth as companions and future companions", and writing touching stories for cross-strait civil exchanges and exchanges.

A family on both sides of the Taiwan Strait is deeply ingrained in their blood and blood
In March and April of this year, Mr. Ma Ying jeou went to mainland China to pay respects to his ancestors and visit. He led young Taiwanese students to exchange ideas at three universities, including Wuhan University, and sent a return visit invitation to mainland teachers and students. Afterwards, the Ma Ying jeou Cultural and Educational Foundation actively planned and applied to the Taiwan authorities. Despite the twists and turns, with the call of knowledgeable individuals on the island and the support of mainstream public opinion, the trip of mainland teachers and students to the island was finally successful.
Upon learning that mainland Chinese students and teachers will return to Taiwan, 102 year old Professor Yang Xin from Peking University has handwritten two calligraphy works, "One Family on Both Sides of the Taiwan Strait" and "Fu". Professor Hao Ping is requested to present them to Mr. Ma Ying jeou on behalf of him. This not only wishes mainland Chinese students a smooth visit to Taiwan, but also hopes that this trip can enhance the recognition of "One Family on Both Sides of the Taiwan Strait".
When they first arrived in Taiwan, mainland Chinese teachers and students felt love from the details of preparing wet wipes and throat moistening candies in the shuttle bus. "Taiwanese compatriots are friendly and hospitable, and my heart is very warm," said Chen Shihua, a student at Peking University. The "older brothers and sisters" in charge of reception introduced her to Taiwan's delicious and fun places, which were incredibly friendly. Tsinghua University student Liu Chong said that the enthusiasm and thoughtfulness of Taiwanese compatriots deeply moved everyone.

"Hits, hits, home runs!" On the stands of Taipei Tianmu Baseball Stadium, mainland students put on baseball caps and cheer with Taiwanese youth, showcasing the same youthful passion.
Peking University student Wen Yunhao walked into the baseball field for the first time and was quickly inspired by the love of his Taiwanese compatriots for this sport.
Zhang Yuanmo, a student from Tsinghua University who visited Baodao for the second time, said that after walking through Taiwan's urban and rural areas and mountains, his most precious gain is the true feelings of his Taiwanese compatriots. At every stop of the visit, mainland students will receive a souvenir gift, so much so that their luggage can no longer fit.
What the two sides of the Taiwan Strait need most now is to restore normal exchanges and allow young people from both sides to naturally integrate into it.
"Taiwan's mountains, waters, and people are even more beautiful!" said Yang Fan, a student at Fudan University. The most touching part of this trip is the Taiwanese people's love for their compatriots on the mainland. No matter how much wind and rain it has gone through, the hearts of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait will always be together.

Showcasing youthful charm and sharing cultural inheritance
The joyful folk music "Flowers and Full Moon" was played, and teachers, students, and guests from both sides of the Taiwan Strait clashed with each other, creating a harmonious atmosphere in the Music Hall of the Chinese Culture University.

"With the sound of the qin, I truly feel that the cultures on both sides of the Taiwan Strait share the same roots and origins," said Chen Kaidi, a student at Peking University and a guzheng performer. I am very happy that this trip not only allowed me to visit Baodao, but also to "play together" with young Taiwanese musicians. Let's learn and learn from each other, and work together to spread our knowledge, which will surely make the light of traditional Chinese art shine brighter.
While studying the local customs and traditions of the island, peers on both sides of the Taiwan Strait engage in rich and colorful exchanges, showcasing their youthful charm and forming youthful friendships together.
At National Chengchi University in Taiwan, Ding Ning, the head of the mainland student team and Olympic table tennis champion, carefully guides the receiving and serving skills of the university's team players, and even showcases his signature "squatting and chopping serve". Zhang Huanqi, a contestant from National Chengchi University, said that it is a great honor to have the opportunity to compete with Olympic champions and receive guidance. Ding Ning warmly invites Taiwanese players to the mainland to exchange and hone their football skills.
The place name of the Chinese Culture University is "Huagang", which is derived from the founder's phrase "Beautiful China, Fengming Gaogang". Strolling around the campus of Wuhan University, Sun Lin, a student of Wuhan University, exclaimed "familiar and friendly, as if returning to her alma mater." Both schools have many similar traditional Chinese cultural elements and attach great importance to cultural inheritance. "Both sides of the Taiwan Strait share a common cultural heritage and should engage in more cultural exchanges."
Yao Ruiting, a student from Hunan University, was excited to see the Song Dynasty white porcelain baby pillow in a history textbook at the Taipei Palace Museum. "This is the common cultural memory of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait." She said that with the same roots and roots, strengthening exchanges and frequent exchanges between the two sides will bring us closer.
For this trip to Baodao, Peking University student Zhang Yuxuan specially rehearsed the classical dance solo "Together at the End of the World", inspired by the Tang Dynasty poem "Looking at the Moon and Embracing the Distant" by Zhang Jiuling.
During exchanges with Taiwanese classmates, Zhang Yuxuan found that students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait are studying classical Chinese poetry and inheriting traditional Chinese culture. She gave this dance to her friends who had known each other along the way, hoping that when she looked at the same bright moon in the future, she would recall the beautiful moments of this journey.

Sow the seeds of hope and hope for the flowers of the future
Walking non-stop, constantly communicating. In recent days, young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait have been chatting freely about their studies, lives, and ideals, creating a lively atmosphere and a warm scene.
It took only one day for mainland students and Taiwanese students in charge of reception from the time when they arrived in Taiwan to the time when they were like brothers and sisters. The catalyst is karaoke on the tour bus. Representative works of singers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait string together common memories, and familiar melodies make everyone feel so close to each other's hearts.
There are new acquaintances, as well as old acquaintances reuniting. He Jialin, who is studying at Taiwan University, is referred to as an "old friend" by Zhuang Yezhao, a student at Fudan University. When Mr. Ma Ying jeou visited mainland China in April, they met during a cross-strait student symposium.
He Jialin said that everyone is very happy to be together in Taiwan this time. "The common language, culture, and age make us very happy to talk to each other." Zhuang Ye said, "Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are already one family, and mutual communication should be carried out vigorously.".
From group discussions to group discussions, from tea parties to casual conversations on the way, it seems that young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait have endless words to say. Chen Yingkai, a student at the Chinese Culture University, said that communication and exchange can help us better understand each other's ideas and seek common ground while reserving differences. Taiwanese university student Zhan Yuxiang said that communication with mainland students is relaxed, enjoyable, and there is no barrier. We all have many similarities, and we look forward to seeing excellent mainland students again in the future.
"There are many common topics among young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and as soon as they open their mouths, they can't stop talking." Professor Zuo Zhengdong from Taiwan University hopes that young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait will have more opportunities to get to know and appreciate each other, and work together to create a better future.
Taiwanese education expert Chen Zhengui said that the visit of mainland Chinese teachers and students has been widely praised on the island, and youth exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are imperative. We welcome mainland Chinese teachers and students to come frequently and frequently.

At the end of the trip, Mr. Ma Ying jeou summarized and sent a message: This is a beneficial attempt, and in the future, he hopes to hold annual exchanges of young students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, making exchanges between young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait a norm.

At the moment of parting, young friends from both sides of the Taiwan Strait were reluctant to part ways, expressing sincere emotions with the words "keep in touch" and "wait for you to come again". As Professor Hao Ping once said, "The bond between hearts and the fusion of emotions cannot be severed. This blood is thicker than water, and we believe that in the tide of cross-strait exchanges, youth will not be absent, and it will continuously inject new vitality into the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.".
Mr. Wen Yiduo, a patriotic poet, once wrote, "Youth is like a bird singing a song, breaking out of the winter cave and sailing into the azure dome." Today, young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait sow the seeds of hope, and they will surely bloom with flowers of a beautiful future.
