Accessible Environment Construction Law Voted for Approval Requirements | Environment | Construction
On June 28th, the Third Session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress voted to pass the Law on Accessible Environment Construction.
This law will come into effect on September 1, 2023, consisting of 8 chapters, including General Provisions, Construction of Accessible Facilities, Accessible Information Exchange, Accessible Social Services, Safeguards, Supervision and Management, Legal Responsibilities, Supplementary Provisions, etc.
The construction of an accessible environment is an important aspect of safeguarding the rights and interests of groups such as people with disabilities and the elderly, and has significant value in promoting social integration and comprehensive human development. The formulation of the Law on Accessible Environment Construction is an important manifestation of adhering to the principle of people-oriented, respecting and safeguarding human rights, an inevitable requirement for implementing the national strategy of actively responding to population aging, and a powerful guarantee for effectively improving the quality of accessible environment construction.
