200000 South Korean teachers protest on the streets of Seoul: wearing black clothes and holding slogans, demanding rights protection
According to Yonhap News Agency, on the 2nd local time, about 200000 South Korean teachers gathered on the streets of Seoul to protest their rights.
On that day, thousands of protesting teachers dressed in black held a protest rally near the National Assembly Hall on the western island of Yoo in Seoul. The organizers of the protest said that about 200000 teachers attended the entire rally.
This protest is related to the suicide of a 20-something elementary school teacher in Seoul in July. Due to malicious complaints from parents, a 24-year-old elementary school teacher in Ruicao District, Seoul, South Korea, committed suicide on campus under heavy pressure, causing strong social unrest in South Korea. After the incident, the call for teachers to fight for their rights has been increasing.
