A batch of major commercial aerospace projects involving multiple fields such as launch vehicles and satellites have been released in a concentrated manner
CCTV News: The 9th China International Commercial Aerospace Summit Forum was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province today. More than 100 commercial aerospace companies from both China and abroad participated in the exhibition, bringing a batch of latest scientific research achievements in the field of commercial aerospace, such as satellites and launch vehicles.
Ma Hongzhong, Director of the 302 Institute of the Third Academy of Aerospace Science and Industry of China: This time, we are using decades of accumulation in aerospace to showcase some new achievements in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles. With the increasing scale of drones, they can serve as launch platforms for small satellites. In the future, using small satellites as launch platforms is a very good means when networking.
At the forum, Aerospace Science and Industry Group announced the official launch of the construction of the ultra-low orbit integrated satellite constellation. Ultra low orbit refers to an orbit with an altitude of less than 300 kilometers. Compared to traditional orbits, ultra-low orbit can achieve a 50% reduction in optical payload weight and cost at the same resolution.

Zhang Nan, Chief Designer of the Ultra Low Earth Orbit Remote Sensing Integrated Constellation at the General Department of Space Engineering of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation: On the constellation, we are also laying out intelligent algorithms, including AI processing on the satellite, as well as direct communication payloads between the satellite and the ground, which can provide users with minute level and real-time remote sensing information response.
The reporter learned that the ultra-low orbit remote integrated constellation plan will complete its first launch this year, and the launch of a 9-star business verification star cluster will be completed in 2024. By 2030, the constellation will expand to 300 satellites with a 15 minute emergency response capability.
Today, the forum also released a number of major commercial aerospace projects, including the four-dimensional Earth remote sensing cloud service platform and the Weihai 1 laser communication payload, involving multiple fields such as launch vehicles, satellites, and satellite applications.
