A Color Experience Makes Hungarian Students Fall in Love with Chinese Culture | Color | Students
Beijing, July 19th (Xinhua) - "I like Chinese traditional painting. With just one color, I can depict beautiful flowers, birds, and landscapes through different shades." Hungarian student Nini fell in love with Chinese painting when she first picked up a brush.
In July 2023, Nini visited China for the second time with the "Chinese Bridge" summer camp of the Xiong Chinese Bilingual School, and her first time was in Beijing and Henan. During this period, she not only visited the Great Wall, Summer Palace, Shaolin Temple and other places, but also experienced a variety of Chinese cultural courses such as Chinese calligraphy and painting, handicrafts, and Peking Opera at Capital Normal University.
In this Chinese calligraphy and painting class, Nini and her classmates learned the representative painting techniques of mountains, rocks, and trees in Chinese traditional painting. After listening to the teacher's patient explanation, Nini also imitated the teacher's appearance, washing her pen, dipping it in ink, and holding it... Amidst the melodious sound of Chinese classical music, she sometimes looked up and observed, sometimes lowered her head and pondered. Although it seemed stylish, it was not easy for her to flexibly use the soft brush in her hand to draw the rough feeling of mountains, rocks, and trees. In the end, with the guidance of the teacher, Nini adjusted the intensity, proportion, and color intensity of her pen. The trees in her pen suddenly became more vivid and layered, which made Nini exclaim "too magical and too interesting".
"Chinese is really beautiful, but this time we came to China, we had various attempts and felt more Chinese culture," Nini told reporters. She also likes tea ceremony. "I like the movements of brewing, appreciating, smelling, and drinking tea. I want to share my Chinese painting works and my experience in China with my parents."

Due to a certain color and experience, this group of Hungarian students discovered the richness and diversity of Chinese culture beyond Chinese, and thus fell in love with China and Chinese culture. And the brief "lifting of the pen" in this calligraphy and painting class has already laid a "foreshadowing" in their hearts.
