74% of names are blacked out! Spending 1.2 billion yen raises doubts, the Japanese cabinet has announced the attendance list for Abe's state funeral, Shinzo Abe. Among them | List
According to Kyodo News Agency on August 6th, the Japanese Cabinet Office recently released a list of invitees to attend the funeral of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Among them, 74% of the names were blacked out, making it impossible to determine the identity of the attendees.
According to Japanese media, the public list shows 6175 invitees, of which 3436 attended, excluding government representatives from various countries compiled by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 1177 members of Abe's family and related individuals were invited, including provincial officials who had previously served as Prime Minister Abe's secretary, leaders and legislators in Abe's hometown of Yamaguchi Prefecture, and mayors in Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures affected by the 311 earthquake in Japan. The total number of people whose names have been made public is only 45. 100% of the former members of the National Assembly who attended did not have a public identity.
Kyodo News also mentioned that the Japanese government used the excuse that state funerals are considered "national ceremonies" and spent about 1.2 billion yen entirely on national expenses, which has raised doubts about the transparency of the use of public funds.
