There are over 11000 islands in China, including over 480 inhabited islands. Most islands have relatively small areas and fragile ecosystems, making it difficult to recover once they are damaged; The pattern of economic and social development in island areas is different from that on land, and the problem of uneven and insufficient regional economic development is more prominent. It is particularly important and urgent to strengthen the ecological protection of islands, promote high-quality economic development in island areas, and explore the sustainable development path of "harmonious human island".
