25 passengers burned to death, a bus caught fire in Samrudi, India | Highway | Bus
According to the website of the Hindu Daily on July 1st, Indian police reported that a bus caught fire on a section of the Samrudi highway in the Burdana district of Maharashtra state, killing 25 passengers.
The report stated that the private tourist bus was traveling from Nagpur to Pune and collided with a road divider near Sindekaidraja in the Burdana district around 1:30 am.
Bourdana District Sheriff Sunir Kadasne told the Press Trust of India that based on preliminary information, the bus had a flat tire and hit a power pole, then collided with a road divider and caught fire.
Kadasne said that out of the 33 passengers on the bus, 25 were burned to death. He also said that the other 8 passengers have been urgently taken to nearby hospitals and are currently very safe.
