"The people of Xinjiang are enjoying a happy life," and some Western media fabricated lies related to Xinjiang that do not match the true situation in Xinjiang.
Recognize the achievements of counter-terrorism and de radicalization, praise the development path of human rights
In recent years, Xinjiang has lawfully cracked down on violent terrorist crimes, carried out de radicalization work, and maximally eliminated the soil and conditions that breed terrorism and religious extremism.
In Urumqi, the delegation visited the theme exhibition of counter-terrorism and de radicalization in Xinjiang, and gained a deep understanding of Xinjiang's efforts and achievements in the field of counter-terrorism and de radicalization by watching a large number of real pictures and video materials.
Pakistani Ambassador to China, Izaz Ahmad, stated that the Chinese government has made tremendous efforts in counter-terrorism, providing a safe living environment for local residents and enabling them to live and work in peace and contentment. "We will continue to work closely with China to jointly combat terrorism."
For a period of time, some Western media have fabricated lies to slander Xinjiang and hype up the so-called "human rights issues of ethnic minorities.". Regarding this, Martin Charles, the head of the visiting delegation and the Dominican Ambassador to China, said, "In Xinjiang, we have relaxed conversations with people and see them living a dignified and happy life. We have not seen 'forced labor' or any violations of human rights here."
The Etigar Mosque is located in the ancient city of Kashgar. In recent years, the Chinese government has allocated a large amount of funds to renovate the infrastructure inside the mosque, providing convenient conditions for religious believers. Samoa's Ambassador to China, Luamanuwe Marina, recognizes China's protection and restoration of religious sites. He believes that China's laws guarantee the freedom of religious beliefs of all ethnic groups, and the achievements of development are inspiring.
Experience high-quality economic development and witness the continuous improvement of people's livelihoods
Xinjiang is located in the hinterland of Asia and has been an important hub connecting the East and West on the Silk Road since ancient times. As China expands its high-level opening-up to the outside world, Xinjiang has transformed from a relatively closed inland region to the forefront of opening-up. Iranian Ambassador to China Muhesen Bahtyar believes that under the "the Belt and Road" initiative, Xinjiang plays a key role.
In Urumqi International Land Port Area, Kashgar Comprehensive Bonded Zone and other places, envoys felt the vitality of high-quality economic development in Xinjiang. Batur Tursunov, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China, said, "Since ancient times, Ukraine and China have established connections through the Silk Road. Now, Xinjiang plays an increasingly important role in connecting the Asian and European markets. We hope that the construction of the 'China Kyrgyzstan Ukraine' railway can be smoothly promoted, bringing convenience to the people of both countries."
Improving people's well-being is the fundamental goal of development. In 2010, the Kashgar Ancient City renovation project with a total investment of over 7 billion yuan was launched, completing the renovation of 49000 households of dangerous old houses within 5 years. The renovated residential buildings in Kashgar Ancient City have preserved their original style to the greatest extent possible, and have improved their infrastructure and service capabilities, making the lives of residents safer and more comfortable. They have also attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
At present, it is the peak season for tourism in Kashgar. The envoys and tourists go shopping together, taking photos of the streets, and experiencing the unique charm of the ancient city of Kashgar. Suriname Ambassador to China, Zhang Bifen, believes that the ancient city retains both the external appearance of traditional dwellings and is equipped with modern internal facilities. "I can feel that the people of Xinjiang are enjoying a happy life. They are wearing colorful clothes and dancing happily, just like attending a party."
In Kashi County, located on the edge of the Taklamakan Desert, envoys visited a drinking water safety project with an investment of over 1.7 billion yuan. The local government has diverted glacial meltwater as its water source, and through measures such as laying water pipes and expanding the water distribution network, more than 460000 people in the county have access to clean and hygienic drinking water.
"Providing drinking water to 460000 people anywhere is a remarkable achievement." Nicaraguan Ambassador to China, Michael Campbell, came to Xinjiang for the first time and believed that China's experience provided a reference for Nicaragua to ensure people's well-being and fight against poverty.
Experience the charm of multiculturalism, witness cultural inheritance and protection
As an important hub for cultural exchange between the East and the West on the ancient Silk Road, the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang have created diverse and diverse cultures. The Kizil Thousand Buddha Cave, located in the Aksu region, has undergone thousands of years of baptism, and the stunning murals inside the cave quietly showcase the colorful culture of this land to the world.
Erika Risaldo, Minister Counselor of the Peruvian Embassy in China, was deeply impressed by this. She said, "China is fully committed to protecting the original appearance of this Buddhist cave and mural, embracing the diverse cultures of various regions."
The Chinese government has always been committed to protecting, developing, and inheriting the traditional culture of various ethnic minorities. In Jiayi Village, Yiqi Airike Town, Xinhe County, local residents play traditional Uyghur instruments such as Rewap and hand drums, presenting enthusiastic singing and dancing performances for the visiting delegation.
After the musical instrument producer Nurdong Simayi finished his performance, Mexican Embassy Counselor in China, Edo Dolbecker, purchased a traditional Uyghur instrument called Dutar from him. Akdo Dolbecker said, "I want to give it to my brother. He is a music enthusiast, and I am looking forward to him playing Xinjiang instruments."
In response to some Western media's false accusations of the Chinese government's so-called "extinction of Uyghur culture," Izaz Ahmad said, "Seeing is believing. I saw in Xinjiang that the Chinese government is committed to protecting the culture and language of ethnic minorities."
