On July 12, 2023, the China New Media Conference was held in Changsha, Hunan Province. Li Shulei, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department, attended and delivered a keynote speech.
Participants believed that this year marks the 10th anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instruction to "accelerate the integration and development of traditional media and emerging media. In recent years, the news front has thoroughly implemented the spirit of General Secretary Jinping's important instructions, the all-media position has continued to expand, phenomenal financial media products have continued to emerge, and the party's voice has spread more widely, more deeply through network channels, and the development of media integration has achieved remarkable results.
Participants said that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) mapped out a grand blueprint for comprehensively promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with Chinese path to modernization, and put forward clear requirements for strengthening the construction of the whole media communication system and shaping a new pattern of mainstream public opinion. This conference was jointly organized by the All China Journalists Association and the People's Government of Hunan Province. More than 800 representatives from relevant central departments, propaganda departments of provincial and municipal party committees, central and local news units, website platforms, news colleges and research institutions attended the conference.
