According to TASS on the 5th, a recent apple cider poisoning incident occurred in the Ulyanovsk Oblast, Samara Oblast, and Udmurt Republic of Russia, resulting in 18 deaths.
According to reports, from the 3rd to the 4th, multiple residents of Dimitrovgrad City in Ulyanovsk Oblast were diagnosed with "unknown substance poisoning" while seeking medical treatment. After investigation by relevant departments, it was found that the poisoning among residents was related to drinking an apple cider sold in a local store. Governor of Ulyanovsk Oblast, Ruskeh, said on the 5th that the number of people poisoned by apple cider in the state has reached 35 recently, with 16 deaths and 19 being hospitalized for treatment.
The report also quoted relevant departments as saying that there were 5 people poisoned by apple cider due to drinking problems in the city of Novogubyshevsk, Samara Oblast, and 2 of them died. In addition, the Republic of Udmurt has also reported two incidents of apple cider poisoning.

On the 5th, Popova, Director of the Consumer Rights Protection and Public Welfare Supervision Bureau of the Russian Federation, requested that the apple cider produced by the involved companies be inspected and disposed of, and that food business units be supervised to remove relevant products from the shelves.
