The Hebei Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Government, Provincial Emergency Management Department, Water Resources Department, Development and Reform Commission, and other departments introduced relevant information.
At the press conference, Zhang Chengzhong, Executive Vice Governor of Hebei Provincial People's Government and Commander of Hebei Provincial Flood Control and Drought Relief Command, introduced the situation of rain and water disasters. The rainfall in the province is equivalent to 27.5 billion cubic meters, with local areas such as Baoding, Shijiazhuang, and Xingtai receiving over 400 millimeters of rainfall in 24 hours. The highest point of this round of rainfall occurred in Liangjiazhuang Village, Lincheng County, Xingtai City, with a cumulative rainfall of 1008.5 millimeters.
The peak flood is high. Ziya River, Daqing River, and Yongding River experienced numbered floods. The maximum inflow peak of Shahe Zhuzhuang Reservoir in Xingtai City is 7820 cubic meters per second, and the maximum flow peak of Beijuma River in Zhuzhou City is 4500 cubic meters per second. The peak flow of Gu'an Hydrological Station in Langfang City, Yongding River is the highest value on hydrological records.
Disaster losses are significant. The flood disaster affected 110 counties. According to preliminary statistics, as of August 10th, 3.8886 million people in the province have been affected by floods, with a total affected area of 319700 hectares of crops, including 131500 hectares of crops that were not harvested, 40900 collapsed houses, 155500 severely damaged houses, 1150 damaged primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, 1871 damaged medical institutions, and severe damage to transportation, electricity, communication, water conservancy and other infrastructure in the disaster area. The province has suffered direct economic losses of 95.811 billion yuan, and the overall disaster situation is still under statistical verification.
