Recently, Thai people have been disturbed by a woman.
In April this year, a woman suddenly fell to the ground and died. The killer turned out to be the woman's best friend whom she had recently made friends with.
After following the clues, the police discovered that the female killer was a repeat offender - she had committed 15 crimes across 8 locations in the past 8 years, killing 14 people.
The Thai authorities claim that this person is the most serious serial killer in Thai history. As the investigation deepens, the true identity of the female killer also emerges
The Strange Death of Bai Fumei
32 year old Silipong is a businessman who enjoys making friends and is very generous with his friends.
On April 14th, Silipong went to a temple in Fotong City to participate in a release event. Suddenly, she fell to the ground in great pain. Others immediately noticed her abnormality and wanted to help her, but Silipong quickly lost his breath. The onlookers became even more panicked, with some calling for an ambulance and others calling the police.
After the first responders arrived, Silipong underwent cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but she showed no response. After being taken to the hospital, the doctor diagnosed her as dead, with the cause of death being a heart attack.
Family members believe that Siripong's death is too mysterious. Because she was always healthy and had no bad habits before her death, there was no reason for her to suddenly die. So, the family insisted on having Silipong undergo another examination.
·Silipeng's family reported to the police station.
Soon, the autopsy report came out, which stated that Siripong died of heart failure and his blood also showed traces of cyanide.
Cyanide is a highly toxic chemical substance with a lethal dose similar to arsenic. The dose of cyanide for adult deaths is 0.5-3.5mg/kg. Just take half a dime sized cyanide powder orally and it may be fatal.
Silipong's family immediately reported to the police and hoped that the case would be thoroughly investigated. Her sister also provided a clue to the police.
On the day of the incident, Siripong posted a message on social media stating that he was going to release him with his friends. However, the police had previously stated that Siripong went to release him alone, and his sister believed that Siripong's death had other issues.
On the other hand, the police also made new discoveries at the crime scene, and some of Silipong's belongings, including 40000 Thai baht cash, a branded backpack, and two mobile phones, were missing. After retrieving surveillance footage near the crime scene, they immediately identified a woman as a suspect. On April 25th, the police arrested him in Bangkok.
This person's name is Sharat. She claimed to be a friend of Siripong, but she didn't know that Siripong had released him that day. She also said she was very sad about her friend's death.
But when the police produced evidence - surveillance footage captured her appearing near the temple where she was released, Shalat changed his mind and said he had gone to release her. He also saw that Silipeng suddenly felt uncomfortable, but left first because he was pregnant.
·Sarat was captured by surveillance footage appearing near the crime scene.
Sharat's inconsistent testimony caught the attention of the police and led to an investigation into her.
On April 26th, the police found a medicine bottle containing liquid, a bag with many packaging bags, and a large number of empty medical capsules at Sharat's home.
A few days later, when the police searched Sharat's mother's house, they found two plastic bags filled with white powder and a strange document bag, which contained more than ten documents, each with a different name.
According to the inspection personnel, those white powders are indeed cyanide. But Sharat never admitted to poisoning Silipen, and the case never progressed.
The police have established a special task force
Thai social security has always been very good, and news events with bizarre connotations such as "pregnant women poisoning and killing friends" have quickly become a social topic after being reported by the media.
What surprised the police even more was that this case involved multiple old cases.
Nipla is a doctor who has worked with the police multiple times. His wife met Sharat in 2015 and the two of them, like best friends, often go shopping and eat together.
In October 2020, his wife gave birth to a second child. Nipula was too busy to take care of his wife and children, so he asked his wife to take the two children back to go home to have a rest.
·Nipra tells the story of her wife on a program.
My wife once told Nipra that Sharat has been recommending weight loss pills to her and also said that she did not rest well after giving birth, so she has been very overweight. Nipra thought this was a topic of girlfriends among women and didn't think much about it.
On November 23rd, my wife received a weight loss pill sent by Sharat. On the day of November 25th, my wife told Nipra that she had received another weight loss pill. In the evening, Nipra called her wife and it was her 5-year-old son who answered, saying that her mother was lying in bed. Nipra thought her wife was asleep and said she would call again later.
An hour later, Nipra dialed the phone again, and his wife was still lying in the same position on the bed. He suddenly realized that his wife might have had an accident and quickly asked his son to find a neighbor. The neighbor told Nipra that his wife had died and the lips had started to turn green.
Nipla heard from the doctor at the time that the cause of his wife's death was a sudden heart attack, which may have been caused by taking care of the newborn and postpartum anxiety. But now, after hearing that Sharat was arrested for poisoning and murder, he believes even more that the weight loss pills sent by Sharat to his wife are very problematic.
When the police were sorting out multiple reports related to Sharat, they found that the deceased were mostly women, aged between 30 and 45, and two of them were female police officers. Their methods of death are very similar, first experiencing symptoms of cyanide poisoning, and then rapidly dying.
Because the locations of these cases were distributed in multiple cities in Thailand, they did not attract the attention of the police, and the deceased were treated as accidental deaths. For this reason, the police have specially established a special task force to investigate this case.

A police lady addicted to online gambling
In the eyes of others, Sharat is friendly to others, and her college classmates also stated that she did not exhibit any unusual behavior during her student years, appearing to be an ordinary college student in both appearance and behavior.
Sarat's husband Vitun is a police officer and they have two children. They once lived in a police apartment for a period of time, and neighbors around them said that Sharat is introverted and only deals with high-level police family members.
Later, Vitun became the deputy director of a police station, and the family moved out of the police apartment. Three years ago, Sharat and Vitan divorced, but the family still lived together. Sarat was pregnant with a third child at the beginning of this year.

Why did Shalat, who seemed to have a happy life, kill so many people?
Originally, she had been addicted to online gambling for a long time, and her gambling debts had already exceeded ten million Thai baht. In order to repay the debt, Sarat began to search for the victims and waited for an opportunity to kill them.
She often uses her identity as a police wife to intentionally contact some female police officers and Bai Fumei, making them trust her. After gaining complete trust from the other party, she borrowed money from them. At first, it was only a small amount of a few hundred to several thousand Thai baht, but soon it became tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of yuan
Once the other party asks her to repay the money, if she can't get the money, she will kill someone and silence them.
Last September, a female teacher believed Sarat's words and gave her a gold necklace worth about 1 million Thai baht as an investment. Shortly after, the female teacher died.
Just half a month before Siripong's death, a female police officer died in another temple. The deceased often went to temples with Shalat to worship Buddha during their lifetime, and some of their wealth disappeared after death.
The only survivor, Katima, told the police that one day in September last year, Sarah invited her to go shopping and saw her constantly coughing, so she took out some cough medicine for her. After taking medication, Candima was about to drive away when she suddenly felt a tightness in her chest and tried to call Sarat, but was hung up. Fortunately, she was promptly sent to the hospital and received treatment.
Because some cases have been going on for many years and the bodies of the victims have already been cremated, the police can only investigate based on the evidence provided by the victims' families. Some family members have expressed that they have also suspected that Sharat is suspected of committing a crime, but considering that Sharat's husband is a police officer and is afraid of being threatened, they have given up.
·A family member of the deceased reported to the police station.
On June 30, 2023, the Deputy Director of the Thai Police Department, who was investigating this case, stated at a press conference that after investigating and collecting evidence from over 900 witnesses and reviewing 25000 pages of information, the police found that Shalat had lured 15 victims to take "capsules" containing cyanide from 2015 to 2023, resulting in 14 deaths.
In addition, there are three cases under investigation. Because there are a total of 18 people on the list who frequently transfer funds to Sarat, which means there may be more real victims than 15.
The police also found that Sharat has been selling at least three insurance companies since 2012. The documents previously searched by the police with multiple names were also confirmed to be 12 policies purchased by Sharat under the name of the deceased.
The cyanide used by Sarat for poisoning is a drug that individuals cannot hold in Thailand. She claimed to have purchased it online, but did not explain the reason for the purchase.
The police also found that it was not only Sharat who had the problem. Husband Vitun once helped her dispose of the victim's car and may have made some forged documents for her to purchase insurance in the name of the victim. At present, Vitun has been dismissed and is waiting for the court's summons. He said he will actively cooperate with the police to solve the case.
Thai media reported that in recent years, online gambling in Thailand has been rampant, with many police officers being bribed to work for these gambling websites. The Thai police have stated that they will crack down severely on online gambling in the future.
After her arrest, Sharat has been held in a women's detention center in Bangkok and will face approximately 80 criminal charges, including 14 counts of premeditated homicide, setting a new record in Thai criminal history. The head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Thai police said that the 14 counts of premeditated homicide and 1 count of attempted murder will face the death penalty.
