149 people arrested in South Korea's "murder trailer" incident! Half Minors Headquarters | Murder | Minors
According to Yonhap News Agency, the National Investigation Headquarters of the South Korean Police Agency stated on the 14th that as of 9:00 am that day, a total of 354 "murder previews" posts had been found nationwide, with 149 posters arrested and 15 of them arrested.
According to statistics, 47.7% of the captured "homicide trailer" posters were teenagers in their teens.
On the 10th, the Guangzhou Police Department arrested a junior high school girl who posted a notice of murder on the photo wall and uploaded a picture of her wielding a knife. The girl stated during the statement that due to account settings not allowing strangers to view, she thought only friends could see it, so she jokingly posted the content.
According to reports, among the arrested teenagers, there are many children under the age of 14 with criminal responsibility. In South Korea, juvenile offenders between the ages of 10 and 14 are referred to as "juvenile offenders". The current law stipulates that juvenile offenders are not criminally punished, but are ordered to participate in social service activities or be transferred to juvenile correctional facilities.
The South Korean police believe that the majority of post creators take advantage of their lack of punishment to make malicious jokes. The police plan is to transfer juvenile offenders suspected of committing crimes to the juvenile court of the jurisdiction for relevant punishment.
Since the murder occurred at Shinlin Station in Seoul on July 21st, posts with "murder previews" have been appearing frequently online. South Korean prosecutors and police have also arrested the poster based on the circumstances of the crime.
