The prize pool has expanded from the initial 1 million yuan to 10 million yuan, and the National Finals of the Yangtze River Delta Jujin Science and Technology Innovation Competition have come to an end
On July 1st, the national finals of the Yangtze River Delta Jujin Science and Technology Innovation Competition ushered in a "peak battle", with 9 entrepreneurial teams from the science and technology innovation track "breaking through the encirclement" and entering the Xianghui Hall of Fudan University. In the end, the "Proteomics Empowering Cancer Precision Medicine" project team won the championship and won the "Jujin Award" of 880000 yuan in cash.
The predecessor of the Yangtze River Delta Jujin Science and Technology Innovation Competition was the Fudan "Jujin Cup" Entrepreneurship Competition. After 20 years of development, this competition integrates the potential of industry, academia, and investment, and the prize pool has expanded from the initial 1 million yuan to the current 10 million yuan level.
After half a year, spanning the four major competition areas of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Anhui, seven preliminary and semi-final rounds were screened layer by layer, and 156 projects each showed their unique abilities. More than 20% of the participating members have a doctoral degree, over 50% of the projects have the title of technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises or high-tech enterprises, and 76% of the projects have Pre-A rounds or more of financing. The participating projects are all dominated by "hard technology": among the science and technology innovation enterprises participating in the preliminary competition, each company has an average of 10 technology patents; Among the finalists, each company has an average of 17 technology patents.
Three days before the start of the finals, Fudan Management Institute set up a championship challenge training camp for 21 seed teams, inviting experts, professors, and entrepreneurial mentors to help the contestants comprehensively improve in various aspects such as project content extraction, business plan polishing, and roadshow expression skills. This is the unique concept of "cultivating people through competition" of Fudan Management Institute, and it is also one of the characteristics that distinguishes the Yangtze River Delta Jujin Science and Technology Innovation Competition from other technology entrepreneurship competitions.
The final roadshow segment adopted a dual track competition system of "product competition" and "ultimate questioning". Nine final teams each conducted a 10 minute project demonstration and answered the judges' questions within the next 15 minutes.
In the face of achievement transformation startups that are currently at the forefront of the industry, Zhou Daohong, General Manager of Shanghai Guosheng Capital Management Co., Ltd., specially reminds the contestants that the more the company's business grows rapidly, the more it is necessary to design the equity structure of the entrepreneurial team in advance. Shan Junbao, President of CICC Capital Operations Co., Ltd., advocates that it is necessary for science and technology innovation enterprises that have reached a certain scale to timely consider the future capital exit path. Hu Yu, co-founder of iFlytek, believes that it is not easy for cutting-edge technology companies to maintain technological leadership. While continuously extending their upstream and downstream industrial chains, companies also need to constantly pay attention to the possibility of disruptive changes in other technological paths.
"The winner of the" Jujin Award "and the representative of the" Proteomics Empowering Cancer Precision Medicine "project team said after winning the award," The Yangtze River Delta Jujin Science and Technology Innovation Competition is completely different from previous science and technology innovation competitions. On the one hand, the competition system design is quite complete, which can fully demonstrate the comprehensive strength of the project. On the other hand, through the carefully designed courses and repeated polishing of the business plan by the organizer, I have also learned the method of accurately transmitting company information to investors. Professor Lu Xiongwen, Chairman of the Evaluation Committee of the Yangtze River Delta Jujin Science and Technology Innovation Competition and Dean of the School of Management at Fudan University, said, "In the past decade, China's social and economic environment has undergone fundamental changes, especially in the Yangtze River Delta region. Whether it is the reserve of science and technology innovation talents, the resilience of the manufacturing industry chain, or social capital and policy support, it has provided a fertile ground for the vigorous development of China's science and technology innovation. We hope that this competition can effectively promote the integration of commercial innovation in the Yangtze River Delta region, better promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and jointly build a highland for China's future science and technology innovation."
