On June 5th, the newly completed Shanghai International Standardization Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine building at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine welcomed representatives from China, Japan, South Korea, and other countries to attend the 13th plenary session of the International Organization for Standardization/Technical Committee of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Standards are an important cornerstone and technical support for the global governance system and economic and trade cooperation development. China is dedicating its wisdom and making contributions to the development of international standardization with an unprecedented attitude of openness. The international standardization work of traditional Chinese medicine carried out by ISO/TC 249 provides norms for the safe use of traditional Chinese medicine and related traditional medicine worldwide, and also provides strong technical support for achieving the World Health Organization's "universal health coverage" and the United Nations "sustainable development" goals.
