The dance "Drum Rhyme" performed by 48 male students from the Shanghai Youth Activity Center Hand in Hand Art Troupe showcases the masculinity of a young man and the spirit of Chinese dance in one move. On the evening of the 23rd, the Shanghai Youth Activity Center Hand in Hand Art Troupe held a "National Style Dance Rhyme" art education promotion exhibition at the "Star Stage" of the Shanghai Mass Art Museum. In this presentation performance with the theme of "Walking towards Beauty with Aesthetic Educators", the art troupe students used dance art to showcase their youthful and beautiful charm.
This exhibition event is themed around "National Style" and revolves around four chapters of "Wind, Elegance, Ode, and Rhyme". It presents 34 exciting dance works, with a total of 593 art troupe students participating. The opening classical dance "Man Ting Fang" includes a segment of "Drum Rhyme" performed by 48 boys, which is eye-catching. One of the performers, Zhao Yihan, is 10 years old and has been learning dance for 5 years. "This dance places special emphasis on physical posture and facial expressions, showcasing the spirit of a boy. We practice these contents in every class," Zhao Yihan said. At the beginning of the practice, we often found it difficult to hold the drum with one hand, often unable to hold it, and easy to fall off. After returning home, we continued to practice, but because we didn't have a drum at home, the teacher taught us how to use dumbbells, water bottles, and other methods to exercise strength. Our hands should be raised flat, and we could also use other similar objects to replace the drum. Gradually, we could grasp the drum. ". Because I am interested in dance, I started learning dance and have persisted until now. In the future, I want to make dance a hobby and continue to dance. One of the actors in the dance "Di Zi Gui", Yan Ruojing has also studied dance for 5 years. "This dance recreates the scenes of ancient reading and the appearance of schools. Participating in dance performances has enhanced my dance skills and helped me understand the way ancient people read in schools," said Yan Ruoyuan.
Ling Guiming, a ballet educator and honorary dean of the Dance Academy of Shanghai Theatre Academy, said that for children, showcasing themselves on stage showcases the vibrant and positive spirit of contemporary teenagers. In this exhibition, I saw the boys performing "Drum Rhyme" and I also hope that more boys can participate in dance learning and performance.
