In the most competitive online attack and defense competition, the striking electronic screen instantly displays the attack and defense situation of each team, symbolizing the continuous alternation of electronic beams of "network attack", which is dazzling.
Recently, the final of the 8th Shanghai University Student Network Security Competition and "Panshi Action" 2023 University Student Network Security Invitational was held at the Yan'an Road Campus of Donghua University without gunpowder. The event was jointly hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and the Shanghai Communications Administration, and hosted by Donghua University and the Shanghai Internet Association. A total of 273 teams from 136 universities across the country participated.

Among them, the offline finals of the online attack and defense competition adopt the AWD attack and defense competition mode, with "white guests" and "hackers" having direct conversations. The participating teams earn points by "overcoming" and "maintaining" typical vulnerabilities in key information infrastructure, and avoid losing points by repairing their own service vulnerabilities and conducting effective defense, in order to comprehensively assess the real-time strategy and technical ability of the participating teams. The information security competition will be demonstrated and reported by the participating teams on site, with industry experts scoring on site.
"Students have developed comprehensive technical and tactical abilities in network attack and defense through competitions. They not only need to be proficient in network attacks, but also need to have the ability to repair vulnerabilities." During the competition, Li Yue, a teacher at the School of Computer Science at Donghua University, said, "There is an opportunity to compete with strong teams and learn their advanced attack ideas, technical means, and defense skills." After nearly 6 hours of fierce competition, the competition has determined 1 first prize, 4 first prizes, 9 second prizes, and 16 third prizes for network attack and defense, as well as 1 first prize, 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 4 third prizes for information security works. The competition sets up separate awards for universities in the Shanghai region, selecting one special prize, two first prizes, three second prizes, and four third prizes for the 8th Shanghai University Student Network Security Competition.
In terms of various awards, the NSSL-SJTU team from Shanghai Jiao Tong University won the special prize at the invitation competition, while the Orange Zard team from Fudan University, the BXS team from China University of Mining and Technology, the JN5EC team from Jiangnan University, and the A1natas team from Zhejiang Normal University all won the first prize; At the Shanghai competition, the NSSL-SJTU team from Shanghai Jiao Tong University won the special prize, while the Orange Zard team from Fudan University and the r00t team from Donghua University both won the first prize; At the competition, Jinling University of Science and Technology won the special prize for its "Intelligent Driving System Based on Federated Learning and National Security Algorithm", and Donghua University won the first prize for its "File Transparent Encryption and Ransom Protection System Based on Microfilter Driver".
Information security is an important component of the overall national security concept, and universities, as the main battlefield for teaching and research, are dutiful. At the same time, the "Rock Action Network Attack and Defense Joint Laboratory" jointly established by Donghua University and Shanghai Internet Association was unveiled, which is dedicated to exploring a new mode of network and data security personnel training, promoting the integration of industry and education and collaborative education.
