Yang Ming, Su Xinbao, and Zheng Ning, the guide experts for the Shanghai Holy Trinity Church, the former site of the Leister Institute of Technology, and the Sha Mei Building, are the design leaders in charge of these three architectural restoration projects. They are all recently completed protection projects, some of which have become new internet celebrities, while others have just been opened to the public and have attracted much attention.
The Holy Trinity Hall is a historical building that has undergone a series of renovations and has been completed this year. Its changes are closely linked to the 170 year history of Shanghai. Yang Ming, the head of church renovation design and the chief architect of East China Architectural Design and Research Institute, said, "Only when you discover the story and relevant people behind the building, will the building have a true emotional connection with you, and your understanding of the building will be different. A detailed architectural history can become a true urban memory."
The design leader for the renovation of the former site of Leicester Institute of Technology is Su Xinbao, Vice President of the Historical Architecture Protection Design Institute of East China Architectural Design and Research Institute. He led the team to start the renovation project of this historic building from the sinking of the sea, sweeping away the dust from the nearly 80 year old Leicester Institute of Technology and the historical figure of Leicester. On the basis of respecting history, the design team carried out protective repairs and interior decoration on the main building, which not only restored the historical style but also improved the usability of the building.

The completion of the renovation and commissioning of the Sha Mei Building coincided with its centenary of construction. The long history has left many parts of it unrecognizable. The elegant appearance facing Beijing East Road has disappeared, and only 5% of the interior decoration remains. Zheng Ning, Deputy Chief Architect of Huajian Group's Historical Architecture Protection and Design Institute, said that in order to restore its original appearance, a large amount of search and retrieval of original materials is required. Sometimes, a blurry photo is also precious. It is precisely on the basis of extensive research that a renovation design plan has been developed to revitalize the Sha Mei Building.
