The China South relations are of great strategic significance in safeguarding the common interests of developing countries and leading the unity and cooperation between China and Africa. This year is the South African Year of the BRICS, and the relationship between the two countries faces important development opportunities. China is willing to work with South Africa to enhance the level of bilateral relations, build a high-level community with a shared future between China and South Africa, practice true multilateralism together, work together to safeguard the common interests of developing countries, and promote the development of the international order towards a more just and reasonable direction. China supports South Africa as the rotating presidency to successfully organize various activities of BRICS cooperation this year.
Ramaphosa expressed that South Africa highly values the strong and high-level strategic partnership between South and China, and is deeply proud of it. South China cooperation benefits Africa. South Africa is committed to working with China to promote the continuous development of South China relations. South Africa will deepen communication and coordination with China and other BRICS member countries to strengthen BRICS cooperation.
Both sides also exchanged views on the Ukrainian crisis. Ramaphosa stated that South Africa supports China's position paper on a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis and hopes that relevant parties can resume negotiations as soon as possible. A peace delegation composed of leaders from six African countries, including South Africa, will visit Russia and Ukraine to push for the conflict to end as soon as possible.I hope all parties can accumulate favorable conditions for resolving the crisis through dialogue. The President and leaders of relevant African countries formed a peace delegation to visit Russia and Ukraine, which is a good thing. I hope that countries around the world that love peace and uphold justice can issue rational voices of persuasion and negotiation.
