Xi Jinping Meets with Indonesian President Joko Xi Jinping
Xinhua News Agency, Chengdu, July 27. On the afternoon of July 27, President Xi Jinping met in Chengdu with Indonesian President Joko, who came to China to attend the opening ceremony of the 31st Summer Universiade and visit China.
On the path of achieving national modernization and national rejuvenation, China and Indonesia have a high degree of compatibility and mutual development opportunities, and are like-minded fellow travelers and good partners. China is willing to take the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries as an opportunity to deepen strategic cooperation with Indonesia, create a model of shared destiny, unity and cooperation, and jointly promote development for developing countries, and inject more certainty and positive energy into the region and the world.
The docking of the "the Belt and Road" initiative with Indonesia's concept of "global maritime fulcrum" has achieved significant results. The opening of the Jakarta Bandung high-speed railway is imminent, and both sides should make every effort to carry out the "last mile" construction, ensuring high standards and quality of the project, and injecting acceleration into Indonesia's development. Both sides should continue to improve cooperation in comprehensive industrial parks, with a focus on promoting the construction of the "Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridor" and the "Two Countries, Two Parks". The Chinese side supports the construction of Indonesia's new capital and the development of the North Kalimantan Industrial Park. It is willing to expand cooperation with Indonesia in areas such as new energy vehicles and smart cities, and jointly promote the digital transformation of industries. China is willing to continue expanding the import of bulk commodities and high-quality agricultural products from Indonesia, implementing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with high quality, and strengthening cooperation in areas such as food security, poverty reduction and poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, vocational education, language teaching, medicine and health, and cultural tourism.
China is willing to deepen its comprehensive strategic partnership with ASEAN, support Indonesia as the rotating chair of ASEAN this year, lead ASEAN to adhere to strategic autonomy, unity and self-improvement, and jointly build a regional stability center and development highland. China is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation with Indonesia in multilateral mechanisms such as the G20 and BRICS countries, promote the implementation of global development initiatives, global security initiatives, and global civilization initiatives, maintain regional and global peace and stability, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
The Jakarta Bandung high-speed railway will open on schedule in August this year, and strategic projects such as the construction of Indonesia's new capital and the development of the North Kalimantan Industrial Park, in which China actively participates, are progressing smoothly. Indonesia firmly adheres to the One China policy and is willing to continue to strengthen cooperation with China in investment, marine fisheries, food security, healthcare, and other areas, further promoting the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.Thank you to the Chinese side for supporting Indonesia's appointment as the rotating presidency of ASEAN and for supporting the maintenance of ASEAN's central position in the regional architecture. Indonesia is willing to closely communicate strategically with China to jointly maintain regional peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
After the meeting, the two heads of state jointly witnessed the signing of multiple bilateral cooperation documents, including the export of agricultural products to China, health, joint research and development, as well as the construction of the new capital of Indonesia and the "dual parks" between China and Indonesia.
