Xi Jinping Meets Burundi President on Development | Cooperation | Burundi
On the afternoon of July 28, President Xi Jinping met in Chengdu with Burundian President Ndayismiye, who came to China to attend the opening ceremony of the 31st Summer Universiade and visited China.
China firmly supports Burundi in safeguarding its national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, opposes interference from external forces, and supports Burundi's independent development path. China is willing to continue to firmly support each other on issues involving each other's core interests with Burundi to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and common development.
The practical cooperation between China and Burundi has strongly promoted the economic development and improvement of the people's livelihood of Burundi. China will accelerate the promotion of relevant major cooperation projects, support the export of Burundian agricultural products to China as soon as possible, give full play to the role of agricultural technology demonstration center and agricultural experts, encourage competent Chinese enterprises to invest in Burundi, and help Burundi achieve food self-sufficiency and independent sustainable development. The Chinese side is willing to continue to strengthen communication and cooperation with the Burmese side on major international affairs, especially hot issues in Africa, and make positive contributions to peace and stability in Africa together.
Developing unity and cooperation with African countries is an important cornerstone of China's foreign policy and a firm strategic choice. For a long time, cooperation between China and Africa in various fields has yielded fruitful results, bringing tangible benefits to Africa and creating better conditions for the international community to carry out cooperation with Africa. Currently, multiple challenges and crises are intertwined in the world, and China and Africa need to strengthen unity and cooperation to safeguard the common interests of developing countries and international fairness and justice. China is willing to use its new development to provide new opportunities for the African side, work with African brothers, including Burundi, to implement the outcomes of the Dakar meeting of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation, promote the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" cooperation, promote the docking of the global development initiative with the African Union's 2063 Agenda, and achieve common development and progress.
Ndayishmyer stated that although the two countries are far apart, the friendship between the two peoples has remained strong over time, and they have always respected, trusted, and supported each other. The Burmese side thanks China for its valuable support and regards China as an all-weather partner for achieving national development. Bufang firmly adheres to the One China policy and believes that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China. The Bulgarian side firmly supports the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the global development initiative, the global security initiative and the global civilization initiative proposed by China, and opposes the pursuit of double standards on human rights issues and interference in other countries' internal affairs. Burundi hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in agriculture, mining, animal husbandry and other fields, align with the African Union's 2063 Agenda, help Burundi and Africa achieve development, and promote greater development of Africa China relations. Africa China cooperation is mutually beneficial and win-win. The Burmese side is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation with China in regional and international affairs, strengthen African China unity and cooperation, and build a more just and reasonable international order.
