In the first half of this year, China accelerated the construction of a green and low-carbon modern industrial system, and used industrial greening to promote the economy towards a new path of high-quality development.
Since the beginning of this year, the green development of China's industrial system has comprehensively accelerated. In Jiangsu, more than 200 energy-saving technology renovation projects and 100 key projects were launched in the first half of the year, with an energy saving amount exceeding 3 million tons of standard coal. In Guangdong, as of now, the trading volume of carbon emission quotas has exceeded 200 million tons, and more than 300 national level green factories have been built. In Shaanxi, green carbon reduction technologies have been vigorously promoted since the beginning of this year, capturing and utilizing carbon dioxide equivalent to planting over 5.1 million trees.
Greenization is a fundamental characteristic of a modern industrial system.
Building a solid foundation for green development. In the first half of this year, China accelerated the elimination of outdated production capacity, increased the proportion of emerging industries, and made the industrial structure greener; Vigorously promoting energy conservation and carbon reduction, improving efficient resource utilization, resulting in a 0.4% year-on-year decrease in energy consumption per unit of GDP, and a greener energy consumption; Innovative product design and construction of green industrial chains in the industrial sector have resulted in the creation of over 3600 green factories, 267 green industrial parks, and over 400 green supply chain management enterprises at the national level, making the manufacturing process greener.
At this green supply chain factory in Anhui, inspectors conduct green audits on hundreds of upstream suppliers every once in a while. This white component used to have high energy consumption due to the need for powder spraying and heating during the manufacturing process. Now, after several rounds of process upgrades, it can save over 600000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually.
Now, the entire industrial chain of the factory can reduce carbon emissions by 35000 tons annually through continuous green upgrades, and more than 160 national level green factories and 25 such green supply chain enterprises have been established throughout Anhui.
With the acceleration of green transformation and development in various regions, China's industrial structure has been continuously upgrading since the beginning of this year. In the first half of the year, the added value of the equipment manufacturing industry increased by 6.5% year-on-year, accounting for 32.3% of the added value of industries above designated size, and contributing 53.9% to the growth of all industries above designated size. The economic structure continued to be optimized.
The efficiency of energy resource utilization has significantly improved. In the first half of the year, the energy efficiency of unit products such as steel, raw aluminum, and cement clinker in China was at the world's advanced level, and the energy consumption of 5G base stations per station decreased by more than 20% compared to the initial commercial stage.
The green supply capacity has significantly increased. In the first half of the year, the production of photovoltaic cells, wind turbines, hydro turbines and other products in China increased by 54.5%, 48.1%, and 32.3% year-on-year, respectively. The production and sales of new energy vehicles have remained the world's top for eight consecutive years, and industrial greening is becoming a new driving force for promoting high-quality economic development.
