The Chengdu Universiade is here!

The Chengdu Universiade is the third time for Chinese Mainland to hold the Universiade after the 2001 Beijing Universiade and 2011 Shenzhen Universiade. Leaders of Indonesia, Mauritania, Burundi, Guyana, Georgia and other countries will come to China to attend the opening ceremony and visit the Chengdu Universiade.

On the afternoon of July 27, President Xi Jinping met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who had just arrived in Chengdu on the same day. This is also the third face-to-face meeting between the two heads of state in a year: on July 26 last year, Joko visited Beijing and became the first foreign head of state received by President Xi after the Beijing Winter Olympics; on November 16 last year, President Xi went to Bali, Indonesia.
