High quality development research tour
The clear and bottomless stream flows quietly, while the yellow cattle in groups of three leisurely chew grass. On August 4th, in Linjiazui Village, Hepu Town, Luotian County, Huanggang, Hubei Province, a gust of hot wind blew by, causing the rice to undulate and sway in an invisible way. Under the shade of trees, Professor Zhu Renshan from the School of Life Sciences at Wuhan University and Professor Mohammad Asifak from Punjab University in Pakistan discussed the joint research and development of red lotus hybrid rice.
"Chinese people should firmly hold their rice bowls in their own hands, and seeds are the 'chips' of agriculture." Zhu Renshan, head of the Wuhan University Punjab University Red Lotus Hybrid Rice Joint Research Center, told reporters that Red Lotus Hybrid Rice has advantages such as high temperature tolerance, wide adaptability, high yield, and excellent rice quality. At present, the seeds have been exported to Pakistan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Mozambique, Kenya and many other countries along the "the Belt and Road", with a promotion area of more than 450 million mu at home and abroad.
"In 2021, we established a 1200 acre seed production base in Luotian, and 2500 acres were planted last year. This year, we have transferred nearly 7000 acres of land. Through technical services and order agreements, I hope to transform farmers in my hometown from grain growers to seed production professionals, and drive their income growth." Zhu Renshan, who responded to Luotian's "Professor Returning Home," said.
The "one grain seed" of the Red Lotus Hybrid Rice Joint Research Center's Luotian Base is becoming one of the strong engines for Luotian to promote the breakthrough development of the characteristic agricultural industry chain.
Industrial revitalization is of utmost importance in rural revitalization. In the agricultural city of Huanggang, Xishui County accounts for one tenth of the annual egg production in Hubei and one percent of the national total, and is currently constructing the largest egg trading market in central China; Hong'an County has grown a single plant of Hong'an sweet potato into a "golden lump" with a total industrial chain output value of about 3 billion yuan; Qichun County has even transformed a mugwort plant into a billion dollar industrial cluster. Featured industries are bulging their wallets, creating a beautiful environment that is pleasing to the eye.
Xujiachong Village in Yichang City, located on the edge of the Xiling Gorge of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, is known as the "first village at the head of the dam", and the Three Gorges Dam is within reach.
"Our village is the core area of the Three Gorges ecological barrier, and the important task is to protect the ecology of the Three Gorges. Under the premise of protecting the ecology, we rely on ecological resources to develop the economy," said Xie Rong, Secretary of the Party Branch of Xujiachong Village.
The new version of Xu Jiachong's village rules and regulations stipulates that ecological awareness should be raised, and garbage and sewage cannot be disposed of casually. Planting flowers and grass in front and behind the house, creating a beautiful environment together. You can see the mountains and the water, remember the homesickness. Rural areas must not become barren or left behind.
Strolling through Dongshan Village in Changgang Town, Ezhou, one's sight is filled with green tiles and white walls, and one's ears are filled with cicadas and birds chirping. Ten thousand acres of Xianglian, a thousand acres of aquatic products, a hundred acres of cherry blossoms, and ten miles of Chinese fir... are both scenery and industry.
Speaking of the changes over the past decade, Chen Shuangxi, a villager from Dongshan Village, couldn't help but sigh. The main roads around the bay are all asphalt roads, and the tractor roads are cement roads. Every household has planted flowers and plants in front and behind their houses, just like living in a garden.
More and more young people from Dongshan Village have returned. Chen Chuan, who worked hard in Shanghai for ten years, is one of them. He took a liking to a 4-kilometer long, nearly 200 acre spruce forest in the village. When the leaves of Metasequoia are all green or all yellow, it gives people a pure and exquisite beauty of nature. The Qike Camping Base he manages is located here.
"Over the past 10 years, nearly 70% of the young and middle-aged people in the village have been employed and started businesses nearby. With the presence of young people, the village has vitality and vitality." According to Zhan Zhiqi, the director of the Dongshan Village Committee, the collective economic income of Dongshan Village has increased from 520000 yuan to 4.1 million yuan.
Entering Cangjiachong in Sanlifan Town, Luotian County, the ancient trees are strong and lush, and the courtyard is simple and tranquil. Some of the foreign students are busy with making pottery, digging leaves, and learning Paper Cuttings.
Ding Hanping, Honorary Chairman of the Cangjia Ecological Agriculture Professional Cooperative, has many emotions when recalling the changes in the Cangjia River over the past 15 years.
In 2008, Ding Hanping retired and returned to his hometown, leading the establishment of a 7-member deliberation group, with a broom, a shovel, and a basket, to take the lead in carrying out sanitation demolition and illegal construction. In 2011, with the support of all parties, Cangjiachong finally achieved "no muddy roads on rainy days, no walking in the dark at night, drinking and eating with tap water, fitness with a sports field, and a significant improvement in appearance.". In January 2016, the cooperative was established, and villagers, on a household basis, invested in cash, houses, fields, and labor, embarking on a new path of transforming farmers into shareholders, resources into assets, specialties into specialties, households into dividends, and beauty into harmony.
Lei Jinhuan, the 59 year old manager of Cangjia Chongtuo Yin Xiaoyuan, was the first to invest in a cooperative with cash that year. "At the peak of the day, about 300 people come to experience leaf rubbing. It's really unexpected that picking leaves can also make money. In 2017, the first dividend per share was 250 yuan, and this year, the dividend per share may exceed 1500 yuan."
In recent years, Hubei has deeply implemented the joint creation of a beautiful environment and a happy life, carried out comprehensive river basin management and coordinated development, and more and more stories of village beauties are being continued.
