[Milliseconds of 'East Count' and 'West Count']
In the computer room of China Unicom Cloud Data Center at the southern edge of Tengger Desert, the northern suburb of Zhongwei City, Ningxia, rows of servers are slightly ringing, and the dense hard disks are constantly flashing green light.
"Don't be fooled by their presence on the edge of the desert, yet they can control every move of unmanned security vehicles over 2000 kilometers away!" Wu Lihua, Director of the Political and Enterprise Customer Marketing Center of China Unicom Ningxia Branch, pointed to a vast server and played a trick.
This is the latest application scenario of the "East West Calculation" project in Zhongwei City.
More than three months ago, China Unicom Ningxia Branch and Tencent Cloud jointly launched a solution for "5G vehicle remote driving control". Unexpectedly, Fujian Xiamen Jinlong United Automobile Industry Co., Ltd., which grew by the seaside, heard the news and became the first "user".
The autonomous vehicles produced by Jinlong Motors are driving on the road.
Jinlong Automobile is a leading domestic automobile manufacturing enterprise, with independently developed and produced unmanned security vehicles, cleaning vehicles, and logistics vehicles operating in parks across the country. The large amount of data generated during the operation of these vehicles, such as audio and video, LiDAR, millimeter waves, ultrasound, etc., requires strong computing power to ensure safe driving and proper performance of each vehicle.
Why do we have to make the data "cross mountains and mountains" and perform calculations at the edge of the desert?
Wu Lihua gave the answer: "Zhongwei Wind, Light and other new energy sources are abundant, and the climate is dry and cold. The energy consumption of the big data center here is at the lowest level in the country, which can provide ultra-low cost computing services for enterprises."
"More importantly, the geographical advantage of Zhongwei is crucial. Drawing a circle with a radius of 2000 kilometers using Zhongwei as a point, most large and medium-sized cities in the country are within this circle. This is crucial for unmanned driving data transmission with vehicles distributed throughout the country and timed in milliseconds." Liu Qiangsheng, senior engineer of Jinlong Automobile's intelligent networking, further explained.
Nowadays, separated by thousands of mountains and rivers, these eastern data have achieved millisecond level "western calculation".
In Jinlong Automobile Xiamen Park, unmanned security vehicles patrol along preset routes, and the pan tilt camera on the roof records real-time data on vehicle information, fire safety, and personnel behavior in the park.
In just 100 milliseconds, these data can reach the Zhongwei Cloud Data Center. After processing with computing power, various security information within the Xiamen Park thousands of miles away can be identified and warned by AI, constantly safeguarding the safety of the park.
The strategy of "counting from east to west" has put Zhongwei City, a small town in the northwest, at the forefront of the digital economy. The data from all over the country has been processed by Zhongwei's computing power, providing impetus for China's economic development.
Ma Honghai, Mayor of Zhongwei City, said that in recent years, Zhongwei has been approved as the "National New Internet Exchange Center" and "National Hub Node of the National Integrated Computing Network". So far, 13 large and super large data centers have been built, and more than 200 cloud computing and matching enterprises have gathered, providing data storage and cloud computing services for more than 4000 enterprises, such as Meituan, Xiaomi, Xiaohongshu, etc.

"Cloud based" upgrading of industries "
Big data, industrial Internet and other emerging technologies can be linked with cement plants. Jiao Wenke, "the second generation of cement", believes that "it was really hard to imagine ten years ago".
Jiao Wenke, who grew up in a cement factory in Zunyi City, Guizhou, still remembers the working scenes of the past cement factory vividly. "The cement factory is heavily polluted and dusty, and there was a saying in our local area that goes, 'Good men don't enter the cement factory.'"
In recent years, with the application of emerging technologies such as intelligence and digitization, the working environment of Zunyi Saide Cement Co., Ltd. after joint restructuring has undergone earth shaking changes.
In the raw material grabbing workshop of Saide Company, an unmanned intelligent grab bucket automatically grabs the raw materials and accurately delivers them to the feeding port. No worker's figure can be seen on site.
"In the past, at least 12 people were needed. Now, as long as we set up the corresponding program on the computer, the intelligent grab can achieve automatic recognition and automatic grabbing of raw materials." The technical personnel explained that many equipment on the production line are equipped with sensors, which can achieve online diagnosis and other functions, greatly reducing the probability of failures.
Jiao Wenke, who has grown into the company's production manager, introduced that the company has introduced intelligent grab buckets, intelligent logistics, automatic sampling and production systems. Various links such as raw material entry, production process control, and finished product delivery have achieved unmanned or fewer people, greatly reducing production costs. Many links have also achieved closed production, greatly reducing dust and other pollution.

The company has also built a "digital factory" in the cloud. "From equipment maintenance and repair, to the data of each sensor and the situation in every corner of the factory, all can be viewed in real time. Compared with before, the company's personnel have decreased from 200 to 80, but the production capacity has increased from 2500 tons of clinker per day to 4500 tons." Jiao Wenke opened the dedicated mobile application and explained.
As the first national comprehensive big data pilot zone in China, Guizhou Province has continuously promoted the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries through actions such as "thousand enterprise transformation" and "ten thousand enterprise integration" in recent years, accelerating the transformation of old and new kinetic energy, and optimizing the allocation of computing resources, providing broad space and infinite possibilities for the digital transformation of traditional industries.
As of the end of 2022, more than 10000 enterprises in Guizhou have implemented digital integration transformation, driving a total of 25000 enterprises to use the cloud, and deeply integrating big data with the real economy.

On December 8, 2017, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China conducted the second collective learning on the implementation of the national big data strategy.
The "Smart" Transformation of Cities
Can the robotic arm independently perform fine surgery? Is the chief surgeon still 2000 kilometers away?
Ms. Wang, who suffers from uterine fibroids and anemia, recently underwent a minimally invasive total hysterectomy surgery at a hospital in Yinchuan. Fine surgical operations such as dissection, separation, cutting, and suturing are all operated by the robot's four robotic arms.
This is the first case of 5G+AI ultra remote domestic robot minimally invasive surgery in Shanghai, and it is also a microcosm of Yinchuan's "Internet plus smart medicine" construction.
This is a four arm laparoscopic robot that implements 5G+AI ultra remote minimally invasive surgery.
"The patient's abdominal wound is less than 1 centimeter, and the surgery was very successful," said Professor Hua Keqin, the chief surgeon at Fudan University Affiliated Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, located 2000 kilometers away. "The ultra remote minimally invasive surgery can be successfully performed, and the 'brain' and sensitive 'transmission of spiritual meridians' developed by the Shanghai team are indispensable."
Huakeqin introduced that the robot "brain" in Shanghai processes and transmits data for each surgical action of the chief surgeon; The "transmission nerve" 5G is responsible for transmitting data to a robotic arm thousands of miles away, and the robotic arm will accurately "replicate" the surgical actions of the chief surgeon.
"The operation of the robotic arm during the surgery was smooth, and the communication between the front and back medical staff was' zero lag ', all of which relied on the high-speed, safe, and reliable network transmission between Yinchuan and Shanghai." Ding Yan, a doctor from Fudan University Affiliated Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, served as a backup doctor, guarding the operating table in Ningxia for emergency situations. However, the smooth operation left her almost' idle '. ".
With the promotion of the project of "calculating data from the east to the west", Ningxia has fully opened "high-speed direct" Internet channels to important urban agglomerations such as Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Chengdu Chongqing, Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and the transmission delay of optical fiber direct connection with more than 90% of the country is within 8 milliseconds to 20 milliseconds.
Besides healthcare, big data and cloud computing have permeated every aspect of people's lives and urban management. In recent years, Yinchuan City has seized the convenience brought by the construction of the national computing power hub node of "East Calculation and West Calculation", such as talent gathering and infrastructure upgrading. With the "aggregation, communication, and utilization" of data as the key, it comprehensively empowers the intelligent development of the city.
"We will keep in mind the instructions of General Secretary and continuously improve the convenience level of public services. Five years ago, more than 12000 people went to the Yinchuan Citizen Hall every day to handle affairs, but now there are less than 5000 people, but the number of transactions has increased by 17%." said Wu Zhen, Director of the Network Technology Department of the Yinchuan Approval Service Management Bureau.
In the past three years, Yinchuan City has opened up data silos in 37 industries such as housing provident fund, human resources and social security, and medical insurance, with big data covering over 70% of government service matters.
