From the afternoon of the 5th to the morning of the 6th, General Secretary visited the Suzhou Industrial Park Exhibition Center, Suzhou Huaxing Yuanchuang Technology Co., Ltd., and Pingjiang Historical and Cultural District to learn about the construction and development of high-tech parks, enterprise technological innovation, and protection of historical and cultural cities.

From a time perspective, this inspection coincides with more than half of the year of fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Conducting surveys and research at mid year milestones is of great significance for better planning development ideas, deploying economic work, and promoting the completion of the annual economic and social development goals.

From the perspective of location, as a economically developed province in eastern China, Jiangsu Province is an important wing of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and occupies an important position in the overall high-quality development of the country. In 2022, the total economic output of Jiangsu Province exceeded 12 trillion yuan, ranking second in the country.

During this year's National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, when participating in the deliberation of the Jiangsu delegation, General Secretary hoped that Jiangsu would "continue to work hard and forge ahead, continue to lead in high-quality development, achieve a good start to the new chapter of modernization construction in Jiangsu, and make new and greater contributions to the overall situation of the country.".

From the GAC Research Institute, to the China Electric Industry Basic Research Institute in Shijiazhuang City, and then to the Central Industrial Park in Hohhot, General Secretary Xi Jinping's domestic inspection this year, innovation and development and technological self-reliance are important content.

The purpose of this visit to Suzhou, whether it is to visit the Suzhou Industrial Park or the high-tech enterprise Suzhou Huaxing Yuanchuang Technology Co., Ltd., to promote high-level technological self-reliance and self-improvement, is very clear.

Place the focus of economic development on the real economy

Suzhou is built on its manufacturing industry and is also a city of innovation. In 2022, the total output value of industrial enterprises above designated size in Suzhou reached 4.36 trillion yuan, ranking second among cities in China, with high-tech industries accounting for 52.5% of the total output value.

During this year's National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, General Secretary Shan Zenghai, a representative of the National People's Congress from Jiangsu XCMG Group, pointed out during his exchange that "from a global perspective, our current manufacturing industry has the most complete variety. At the same time, we need to further improve and move towards the mid to high end. Our high-quality development must be reflected here. At any time, China cannot lack manufacturing."

This inspection in Suzhou further demonstrates the orientation of adhering to the focus of economic development on the real economy and accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system.

Continue to promote high-level opening-up to the outside world

Building a domestic circulation is to ensure the normal operation of the national economy in extreme situations, which is not contradictory to participating in international economic circulation. We are steadfast in implementing high-level opening-up to the outside world, opening up our doors for construction, and working together to achieve win-win results.

The development of Suzhou Industrial Park is the result of the continuous deepening of China's reform and opening up. In 1994, the governments of China and Singapore signed an agreement to cooperate in the development and construction of Suzhou Industrial Park. In 2019, the Suzhou area of the China Pilot Free Trade Zone was officially established. Over the past 29 years, the actual utilization of foreign investment in Suzhou Industrial Park has exceeded 40 billion US dollars, with a total of 104 Fortune 500 companies investing in 174 projects here. The high-tech industry output value of the park accounts for 74.8% of the total industrial output value above designated size, and new progress has been continuously made in open innovation and comprehensive reform.

Encourage private enterprises to seize opportunities for high-quality development

At the end of last year, the Central Economic Work Conference clearly proposed to effectively implement the "two unwavering principles".
