Fearless of difficulties!, Pursue dreams bravely. The reply from Chinese stars far away from the "Heavenly Palace" has brought the dream of Tibetan teenager Tseren Dajie closer: to be an astronaut like Chinese spaceman | Xizang | Tibetan
On June 14th, China Daily reported that before the crew of the Shenzhou-15 spacecraft returned to Earth, astronaut Fei Junlong sent a reply letter from the "Heavenly Palace" to the 16-year-old Tibetan boy Ciren Dajie.
Ciren's hometown is Lhasa, Xizang Autonomous Region. Because of his excellent academic performance, he was admitted to Beijing No. 80 Middle School in 2021. He was one tenth of the ten thousand who sent letters to the crew of Shenzhou-15, but became the only lucky one to receive a reply from space. "At first, I was very excited. After calming down, I felt very grateful. I sincerely thank the National Space Administration for providing this opportunity to write to astronauts in space," said Ciren.
In his letter to the astronauts, Ciren shared a lot of things, including when he was a child, he listened to his grandfather tell the legend of the stars in Xizang, his dream of understanding the sky through photography, and his experience of moving from Xizang to Beijing in order to seek better learning opportunities, because he believed that this was the place closest to the heart of China's aerospace industry.
In the letter, Ciren also expressed a strong interest and longing for the starry sky. He said: "For me, the starry sky has always been a dreamy and wonderful field. In my hometown Xizang, there are many legends about the starry sky." Through studying in Beijing, Ciren met many new friends who also love aerospace. On the other hand, when learning in a new environment, he also encountered some difficulties and confusion.
Astronaut Fei Junlong encouraged his subordinates by sharing his experiences in his reply. "From space, we can see vast plateaus and looming mountains covered with snow all year round. I guess that's your hometown Xizang, right?" Fei Junlong wrote. "As you wrote in your letter, the path of dreams is never a smooth one. Only by continuing to give it your all can dreams take off."
Fei Junlong also encouraged Ciren and his classmates in the letter to study their abilities well no matter what skills and fields they will pursue in the future. At the end of the reply, Fei Junlong wished Ciren and his classmates success in their studies.

Ciren spent his time in kindergarten and primary school in Lhasa and was very satisfied with the teaching quality and conditions of the schools there. Later, after moving to Beijing to continue receiving basic education, I found that there was a certain gap in teaching quality between schools in Xizang and those in inland areas. However, this gap is narrowing year by year. Ciren said, "Every year when I come home, I go to see my alma mater. Almost every time, I can see gratifying changes, and I hope this situation continues."
"Studying at Beijing No. 80 Middle School is my dream, and I am currently achieving it," said Ciren. In addition to school courses, he also enjoys photography, poetry, and music. He said he enjoys the school environment in Beijing and often chats with his classmates, discussing topics such as information technology, music, and art. "I think leaving our hometown to study in a new place can make us more mature. We can improve our skills in communication, self-care, and self-control," he added. "I think my biggest gain is a higher level of independent thinking, which I believe is very important for facing many things in life."
Regarding the inheritance of Tibetan language and culture, Ciren said that he and his Tibetan classmates regularly carry out cultural activities in their leisure time, including Tibetan calligraphy, dance, and reading, as well as organizing Tibetan cultural festivals. Ciren is currently working hard to study, and for the upcoming summer vacation, he plans to spend more time on his studies. "My current dream is to study computer science at Tsinghua University in the future," said Ciren.
