The Yangtze River, the mother river of the Chinese nation, General Secretary Xi Jinping has always been concerned about. In recent years, the general secretary has successively visited the upper, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River for investigation, and presided over four symposiums on promoting the development of the Yangtze River economic belt, so as to guide the development of the Yangtze River economic belt.

Today, 7 years later, along the path of ecological priority and green development, Chongqing has handed over a high score "answer sheet" for ecological environment protection, with beautiful transformations taking place one by one on the land of Ba and Yu.

The trees are lush green, and the birds sing softly. In the early morning, at the top of Lion Peak in Jinyun Mountain, the sky gradually turned white with fish bellies. Recently, there has been a trend among college students in Chongqing to climb Mount Jinyun at night and watch the sunrise. Most of them are staying overnight in the mountains for the first time. "The ecological restoration is very good, and after coming here, the air feels very fresh. The experience of night climbing was very good!" A college student from a university in Chongqing told reporters.

Chongqing launched the battle for comprehensive ecological and environmental improvement in the Jinyun Mountain National Nature Reserve as soon as possible.

Nowadays, Jinyun Mountain follows the natural characteristics of "mountains, clear waters, and beauty", focuses on the development strategy of "one heart and four areas", accelerates the construction of "world-class Jinyun Mountain and international hot spring valley", and strives to paint a beautiful picture of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

Whenever night falls, the Coral Park in Yuzhong District, Chongqing becomes lively. Citizen Feng Mei likes to walk for an hour on the trail in front of the Coral Park after dinner. "The air here is good and the scenery is beautiful. As I walk, I taste the unique scenery of Chongqing. I love this beautiful city more and more," Feng Mei said, with happiness written on her face.

In the past, the banks of the Fengdu section of the Longhe River were lush with weeds and rugged rocks. After ecological restoration, rural industries along the line developed rapidly, and colorful corridors increased the happiness and beauty of the living environment for residents.

"We all refer to the Longhe River as the 'mother river' of Fengdu. After the Longhe River is well managed, more and more tourists come to visit and travel. I quit my job in another city and returned to my hometown to lead local villagers in running homestays. In 2022, we received a total of 50000 tourists, and the comprehensive tourism income reached 8 million yuan, directly solving the employment problem of more than 70 people." Peng Hongjuan, the head of a homestay in Fengdu, sighed, "The ecology is good, the environment is beautiful, and we have brought real benefits to the people."

The rivers in Sichuan and Chongqing are interconnected, and the ecology is interdependent. Building an important ecological barrier in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River cannot be achieved without the joint efforts of Sichuan and Chongqing.

Li Song, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Team for Ecological Environment Protection in Chongqing, introduced that on April 10 this year, the ecological environment departments and bureaus of the two provinces and cities of Sichuan and Chongqing organized the 2023 Sichuan Chongqing Cross border Watershed Water Environment Joint Law Enforcement Action to jointly promote ecological construction and pollution control.

"The excellent water quality rate of 74 national controlled sections in Chongqing has reached 98.6%. The number of days with good air quality has reached 332 days." Wang Bangping, a member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Chongqing Ecological Environment Bureau, stated that the next step for the ecological environment system in Chongqing will be to improve the quality of the ecological environment as the core, with precision pollution control, scientific pollution control, and legal pollution control as the work policy, further strengthen the important ecological barrier in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, accelerate the construction of a beautiful land with clear mountains and clear waters, and create a "Beautiful China Pilot Zone" for harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
