More than 2700 passengers and crew members on trains K396, Z180, and K1178 experienced signal interruptions and material shortages, which have touched the hearts of the entire nation.

The People's Railway newspaper has gathered all media editorial forces, formed multiple special reporting teams, and rushed to the railway flood prevention and disaster relief and passenger transportation sites to provide comprehensive and multi-dimensional coverage of stranded passengers, staff, and rescue personnel.

K396: "As long as there is still one point of strength, we must persist until the end."

At 12:53 on August 2nd, the second rescue train consisting of six trains safely arrived at Sanjiadian Station, carrying more than 170 passengers. Some passengers of K396 train got off here to reunite with their families, while other passengers on board took the transfer train and finally arrived at Fengtai Station in Beijing; In addition to the 328 passengers transferred by the first rescue train in the morning, most of the K396 train passengers who were trapped for 3 days have safely arrived in Beijing.

Affected by the extremely heavy rainstorm, at noon on July 30, the K396 train was suspended and forced to stop near the Luopoling Station. In recent days, the railway department has urgently dispatched multiple rescue trains and a large number of rescue personnel to the scene to carry out rescue operations as soon as possible.

At around 12:30, the first batch of rescue personnel from Fengtai locomotive depot returned to Sanjiadian Station after two days and two nights of fighting. Half an hour ago, the second batch of rescue personnel had already departed from here.

"The time of returning is still unknown, but all we can do is to persevere until the end as long as we have a bit of strength," said Zhang Mohan, deputy director of the Fengtai turnaround operation workshop.

On this train, there is a small passenger from the study group that everyone is very concerned about. According to the leader, under the careful care of the railway staff, all 44 children in the group were safe and in good physical and mental condition. Eight of them were picked up by their parents at Sanjiadian Station, while the rest of the children will continue their educational journey after arriving at Fengtai Station in Beijing.

In order to do a good job in transferring and picking up passengers, Sanjiadian Station of Beijing West Railway Administration has been preparing for emergencies since July 30th, anticipating and arranging the routes for passengers to leave the station, and making every effort to ensure their safe and orderly departure.

"All rescue personnel and supplies depart from here to repair the route and transport passengers to the Mentougou area. Our station has prepared emergency food such as mineral water and instant noodles to welcome passengers to arrive safely," said Li Changjiang, Secretary of the Party Branch of Sanjiadian Station.

At present, the railway department is organizing personnel and machinery to make every effort to repair the obstructed line, and all passengers on train K396 have been safely transferred.

Z180 times: "Singing and singing, we walked out."

At around 19:00 on August 2nd, with the escort and reception of railway staff and armed police soldiers, the second batch of about 200 passengers of Z180 train safely arrived at Xiehejian Station from Anjiazhuang, and then took a rescue train to Fengtai Station in Beijing.

Ms. Han walked at the forefront of the team with her 7-year-old and 14-year-old sons. She said that after the Z180 train was blocked, she and more than 900 passengers were resettled in Anjiazhuang, and then received daily necessities transported by the armed police, railway and other departments. All passengers received basic food and drinking water protection.

Ms. Han said that on the morning of August 2nd, some passengers began to follow the reception personnel on foot out of the resettlement site, walking for a full six hours along the way.

"This journey has left unforgettable memories for me and my two children. The damage caused by the flood was very serious, with some roadbeds washed away along the way and a tunnel almost completely blocked by mud and sand. Everyone was particularly difficult, thank the country, thank the railway for not forgetting us." She said excitedly.

"The wheels flew, the whistle sounded, the train ran towards Shaoshan, crossed the steep mountains and crossed the river, facing the sunset for thousands of times..." In front of the Xiehejian Station, Ms. Han's 7-year-old son sang the song "Train Running towards Shaoshan" to the reporter on site. He said that when he was afraid and unable to walk through the tunnel all the way, he sang this song to boost his courage. "Singing and singing, I walked out, and now I feel particularly happy."

Mr. Wu from Urumqi plans to travel to Beijing with his family of four on the Z180 train. After the train was blocked by the rainstorm, four members of their family received free food from the train.

"The railway and armed police carried their backs and crossed mountains and rivers, each carrying over 60 kilograms of rescue supplies to our resettlement site. Many of them didn't eat anything themselves and left all their food for us," Mr. Wu said.

On the platform, Chief Kojia, a worker from the Beijing Rolling Stock Depot, laid a plastic cloth on the ground and fell asleep while lying on it. According to the staff beside him, on the early morning of August 2nd, Beijing Railway Bureau Group Co., Ltd. organized more than 200 employees from Beijing EMU Depot, Beijing Rolling Stock Depot, and other units to rush to Xiehejian Station overnight. Each person carried drinking water and food on foot for 6 hours and arrived at Anjiazhuang at noon on the same day. The rescue supplies were distributed by the village committee to stranded passengers. "Although the journey was tiring, we felt it was worth it. Wearing this railway uniform, we must fulfill this responsibility."

It is reported that a group of Z180 train passengers arrived at Beijing Fengtai Station on the rescue train that afternoon, which is the second batch of passengers to arrive at Xiehejian Station.

On the early morning of August 3rd, all stranded passengers on train Z180 were safely transferred and successfully arrived in the urban area of Beijing by train.

K1178: "Thank you to the railway for rescuing us."

At 17:30 on August 2, the passengers of train K1178 who stayed at Hecheng Station due to rainstorm transferred to train G8842 at Zhangjiakou Station and arrived in Beijing.

Since July 29, the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region has experienced heavy to rainstorm. The K1178 train from Yinchuan to Fengtai, Beijing, stayed at Yanhecheng Station for more than 70 hours due to the rainstorm in Mentougou.

At 15:46 on August 1st, the reporter boarded a rescue train bound for Yanhe City Station. This train was originally K42 bound for Beijing Fengtai Station. On July 30th at 16:06, when it reached Zhangjiakou Station from the branch, it was unable to continue due to rainfall ahead, and the train was temporarily suspended from Zhangjiakou Station.

At 10:42, the train arrived near Jiuzhuangwo Station. Passengers saw the newly opened line and the rescue personnel beside the line, waving their hands through the window and showing a joyful smile on their faces. The staff carefully assisted each transferred passenger.

"Bring the ladder over and put the wooden board underneath." With the words of the on-site command personnel, the yellow vest, red vest, and blue clothes under the train were all busy. Setting up the ladder and laying the wooden board, in less than five minutes, a stable exit passage was already set up.

"Auntie, please slow down!" As the first passenger stepped out of the car door, four strong hands tightly grasped the ladder, and five or six arms extended upwards, steadily lifting her to the ground.

"Children, let me weigh you!" As they spoke, the rescue personnel picked up a three or four year old passenger, turned around, and firmly placed him on the ground.

At 12:40, the railway department launched a temporary train to transfer the stranded passengers of K1178 train to Zhangjiakou Station. An additional 32 on duty personnel were dispatched to provide sufficient food and water for the passengers and fully provide service support. "Thanks to the care of the Party Central Committee and the country, we were able to safely return to Beijing." On the train, passengers occasionally expressed their gratitude.

At 16:15, except for 78 passengers who were picked up by relatives and friends at Shacheng Station and Guanting Station, all K1178 passengers safely arrived at Zhangjiakou Station by taking the rescue train.

After getting on the G8842 train bound for Beijing, Ms. Ma, a passenger, excitedly told the reporter after calling her family to report safety, "Thank you to the railway department for sending us on the special train to Beijing and rescuing us!"

At 2:10 am on August 3rd, with the full organization and joint efforts of China Railway Group, local governments, and the People's Armed Police Force, the last batch of stranded passengers at Anjiazhuang Station and Luopo Ridge Station successfully arrived at Beijing Fengtai Station by transfer train. Passengers exit the station in an orderly manner under the guidance of railway staff and are connected by subway, taxi, and other means. At this point, all stranded passengers have been safely evacuated.
