On July 27, 1953, at 10 o'clock in Panmunjom, the North Korean ceasefire agreement was officially signed. After two years and nine months of arduous and arduous battles, the Chinese people have won the great victory of the Korean War.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. Under the banner of justice in defending peace and resisting aggression, the soldiers of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army have composed magnificent heroic hymns! More than 190000 martyrs have sacrificed their lives for the country, and the motherland will not forget! The people will never forget!
In addition to the martyrs who sacrificed themselves within North Korea, there are also many incalculable martyrs who sacrificed themselves on the South Korean side. These unnamed martyrs buried in foreign countries have never been abandoned by the motherland in their search. The Party and the state have always attached great importance to the return of the remains of these martyrs from the Korean Volunteer Army to their home country for burial.
In 2013, under the care and promotion of President Xi Jinping, China and South Korea reached an agreement on the handover of the remains of the Korean Volunteer Army martyrs in the spirit of humanitarianism and after friendly consultations.
On March 28, 2014, the first batch of 437 remains of Chinese People's Volunteer Army martyrs embarked on their way home from Incheon Airport in South Korea. The souls buried in foreign lands will eventually return to their hometowns, and the motherland will welcome the heroes home with the highest courtesy.
In the nine years from 2014 to 2022, a total of nine batches of 913 martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army in South Korea have returned to their homeland and been buried in the Shenyang Anti US Aid Korea Martyrs Cemetery.
At present, China has completed the DNA information collection and identification of the remains of 825 volunteer soldiers from the first eight batches, and has built a database.
Leaving home is still a young man's body, returning is already a patriotic bone.
For the past 70 years, the Party, government, and people have never forgotten the volunteers who created the glorious example of the weak defeating the strong in the history of human warfare, as well as all the people who contributed to the victory of this war.
The achievements of the martyrs will shine for thousands of years!
The heroic names of the martyrs will last forever!
