One is to rely on the high-density store network and operational advantages, and the other has the core ability of precise route planning and real-time traffic conditions to the minute level. In March of this year, Starbucks announced a cooperation with Amap to jointly launch the "street pickup" service. After setting the destination and navigation route on the Gaode Map App, customers can find the "Along the Street Picking" icon on the "Along the Road Search" page, select suitable Starbucks stores along the way to place an order, and Starbucks store partners will receive three system notifications to make coffee and arrive at the designated parking point in advance to wait. Customers can receive real-time voice updates on their orders while on the go, and even during peak commuting hours or busy road sections, they can get off the bus to pick up their coffee. This is a new exploration of Starbucks in the new consumer scene of "on the go" after "to the store" and "to the home". At present, this service has taken the lead in piloting in Beijing and Shanghai, with about 50 stores in Shanghai joining.
"Taking along the street" is another typical digital transformation scene created by Shanghai, which is currently building an "international digital capital".
In December 2020, the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Government issued the "Opinions on Comprehensively Promoting the Digital Transformation of Shanghai City", proposing that by 2025, the construction of Shanghai as the International Digital Capital will form a basic framework; By 2035, it will become an international digital capital with global influence. Industry innovation and talent aggregation are important support and leading forces for comprehensively promoting urban digital transformation. In July of this year, the first "Next City" Digital City Shanghai Application Innovation Competition was officially launched.
Under the guidance of the Office of the Leading Group for Urban Digital Transformation in Shanghai and the Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, this competition attracts various innovative entities to actively participate globally, and sets up three major tracks: digital new technology, intelligent and beneficial new applications, and urban new facilities. According to the Shanghai Smart City Development Research Institute, the organizer of the Zhihui New Application Track, the focus is on digital innovation for upgrading intelligence and convenience in diverse daily life scenarios, including six major fields: Zhihui Education, Zhihui Medical, Zhihui Elderly Care, Zhihui Transportation, Zhihui Culture and Tourism, and Zhihui Commerce.
The official website and registration portal for the Innovation Competition have been opened, and the registration collection will end on September 15th. It is reported that after preliminary review and on-site finals, the competition will select 10 "Pioneer Enterprises" and nominated awards for Shanghai's urban digital transformation, and will make an appearance at the 2023 Shanghai Urban Digital Transformation Experience Week event. Pioneering, innovative, and competitive participating enterprises or teams will also receive priority support from government special funds, investment and financing docking, preferential park entry, and be selected as excellent products and solutions for Shanghai's urban digital transformation catalog and other rich resources.
